At least here in Pennsylvania, you will not see a big difference.
What seems to have happened is McCain got fewer votes than Bush did in each county. He won the same counties, but by slimmer margins.
The votes McCain did not get went to Obama.

Thanks but that’s a state breakdown. What I want to see is the breakdown by county, i.e. where we’d be if the country were to be split up along county lines.

I”m not sure I understand you, but if you click on a state, it gives you the county by county breakdown.

McCain lost the countries Bush won in Maine, NewHampshire, Vermont (the Northeast Kingdom area), and Litchfield Country in Connecticut.
McCain ran a piss poor campaign. We need to start to rebuild the GOP so all states can be in play - not just the south and the great plains.

From link 7, this is probably the easiest one to comprehend. Amazing how blue western Wisconsin is!

Amazing how blue western Wisconsin is!
It's probably population issue...
For example, most of the West Texas Plains and Panhandle counties went 70% or more for McCain and are showing up as pink or light red because there are not even 2000 voters in the county. And, Houston was almost 50-50, but because of the large population, they are showing up as dark blue.
The entire state of Oklahoma really ought to be dark red. Every single county went to McCain (the only state, other than Alaska to be completely red), and most counties were overwhelmingly McCain counties.
Just another biased/slanted map.
