Obama finds out you have 2 cents, he’s gonna confiscate it and give it to someone with only 1 cent...................or, of course, a “deserving friend” who’s in possession of a multitude of pennies. A multitude that will, of course, be used for the common good.

I'm 2 days late to this thread, and that is because I don't check in to Free Republic that often. The reason: It's all VANITIES.

It took me 3 years to get back on line, and the first place I came to was Free Republic. I sent Jim a note of thanks for keeping my handle and tag-line intact. But it only took a few days to see that my “home website” had drastically changed.

We are about to go through a very critical time in our country's history, and Free Republic has never been more important as a means of communication, support, commiseration, and action when necessary. But as I am frightful for the future of OUR country, I am frightful for the future of this great site.

As members of Free Republic we have a great opportunity unique in our world, but must act responsibly and not do what the free press has done, and that is to “broadcast” irresponsibly our opinions instead of news.

Fellow Freepers I implore you to Stop The Vanities.

Have you guys forgotten the grammar police that used to prowl FR?

As to the basic argument; vanities should carry a heading that tells us what they are, but they need to be in the separate forums (forii?) that they relate most closely to.

And, speaking of vanities;
Has anyone else noticed that Mike Huckabee is trying to sound like an adult now that he has a TV show?

I am fully capable of finding the “news” myself...don’t need a “consolidation” site to dump it into one bucket for me...whats the use of a group of like minded people getting together if they cannot express and share their opinions without being put down for “vanity” posting? First site I have see where people get so much blast from the stuff that hits the fan for simply expressing their honest opinion. See sorta Obamish to me.
