More philosophical than Flake's earlier piece today. But hey Obama won on "hope" and "change."

The GOP has not yet hit rock bottom as long as John Boner and Mitch McConnell lead them.

I’d love to see McCotter in a leadership position. He’s really great.

How many more seats will we lose under current leadership?
Where is the Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey of today’s GOP?

We need people with some principles, vision, and integrity.
FReepers, rise up, contact your nearest Republican Representative left standing, and demand they replace John Boner with Mike Pence!

That’s my boy.

Has the $700 bil even been spent yet? And the world still stands. Even though the nation just elected a socialist as its president.

More philosophical than Flake's earlier piece today. But hey Obama won on "hope" and "change." McCotter has become the intellect of the Republican party. It is not about hype but rather about eternal ideas. He will have a bright future in the Republican party.

I am genuinely curious, what’s wrong with McConnell? Is it only the bailout? If it is, then he was between a rock and hard place. To publically defy the presidential candidate would have resulted in a media-augmented problem. So other than that, what has McConnell done wrong?

I would follow Thaddeus McCotter to the gates of hell!

We need to make him one of our House leaders.

Where is the Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey of today’s GOP?

Even Gingrich blinked and backed down to Clinton.

And Dick Armey, for pity's sake? He took his bow and arrows furiously started shooting our own braves!

He is in my district too in Mich! He voted against the 700 trill bailout that has already been wasted on paying stockholders...etc. When I finished grad school at University of Michigan in 2001 I received a very nice letter from him-totally unexpected.

He's a big time pork bareler. He actually ran for reelection on a pro-pork platform. He also generally lacks vision, philosophy, convictions, or backbone. He just doesn't light any fires

He's not a fighter, though admittedly, I think he's been better than Frist was, because he has managed to frustrate the Democrats from time to time, even as the Minority. Frist couldn't seem to do that when the GOP was the Majority...

The problem with McConnell, you could say, is he is rudderless. It's not so much that he is bad, but just accepting him as Minority Leader seems to me to stem from a poverty of inspiration on our side. It's not so much that he is bad, as it is how much better we could do.

Imagine Jeff Sessions or Jim DeMint as Minority leader instead of McConnell. Wouldn't the Senate GOP look a lot different?

Thanks for reasons. I am of the opinion that he is better than Frist. But I also agree that we need new blood in there. DeMint or Sessions sound like good choices. We need a good leader and a hell of a good whip to keep discipline.

Dead is the self-indulgent imbecility of "re-branding" -- as if the Republican Party was a corporate product to be repackaged, not a transformational political movement to be led.

Good. I'd never heard the term "brand" applied to a political party until late this year.

Republican Party, the box of generic corn flakes, a can of sardines.

Unfortunately I'm confident the RNC Country Clubbers still don't get it. They will have to be dragged out of their offices, kicking and screaming, one way or another.

I adore McCotter too. We need a ping list for him; anybody know if there is one already? Or want to be on one?
