How do we counter a one-party media?
Vanity | 11/6/2008 | Neville72

Posted on 11/06/2008 4:47:01 AM PST by Neville72

Just thinking about possible ways to stick it to a media who over the last two years would have made Pravda blush in their naked support of one party and one candidate.

Would it be effective to identify all of those companies who advertise on the broadcast networks, CNN, MSNBC and the print outlets who were in the tank for Obama and inform them their products/subscriptions are no longer wanted?

It might be effective but millions would have to participate.

Thoughts?

Buy a lot of videos to replace the news...Shrink the audience until the advertisers say “no more”.

If we were dirty liberals we’d go steal all their papers with one quarter and dump them in front of the paper’s HQ and light them on fire! But we don’t do that.

So, don’t buy their papers. The only other way would be to start your own media outlet to compete. Trying to boycott sponsors usually never works.

But a one sided media isn’t the problem. Sure it’s an irritant but the real problem is a rudderless Repubilcan party innundated with RINO’s that have diluted the conservative message.

It’s going to be a dark time for us.

I have concluded it is going to be nearly impossible. The MSM is where almost everyone get their news. Think about the time many of us spend online and learning. We are a small percentage.

That facts in this election is a guy with no experience whatsover, surrounded by radicals for 40 years, and with marxist views (all documented) campaigned as the answer to all the world’s ills and a majority of Americans in the middle bought it hook, line, and sinker. They think he is a moderate to bring us all together, whilst he builds a team of political heavies to ram through a radical agenda.

Most people will never have any idea, unless if impact them. Even then, the media will tell them what to think and they will believe it.

If the Fairness doctrine is brought back and the Dems will try to, talk radio will vanish over time.

How then do we know the truth about anything anymore than the Soviet population did for seven decades.

I agree with you there bud. It’s pretty difficult to organize a boycott of so many different sponsors, so yeah, just don’t watch them. But, this must be an absolute boycott of their programming. Don’t even watch it to see what they’re saying. So much so, that you don’t even know who they have on. Don’t watch it ever again.

The day we get smorgasborg cable is a day I will rejoice.

Buying, infiltrating and countering. The RNC may need to look at purchasing ad spots during newscast during the political ‘offseason’ so to get the real news out, perhaps present them as real newscasts instead of the usual political ad stuff.

Ignoring them is one way if you have a Nielsen box.

My fantasy is to blow up their transmitters (ha).

How about a database of all the advertisers and their products (one company could have 3 different toothpastes, for ex.) with a correlating competitor's alternative.

Now maybe eventually you'll have to revert to the original sponsor's product but it would effect them in a great percentage of reduced sales.

Just a first-draft thought.

You concentrate on bringing down one MSM outlet as a warning to the others. CBS is currently the weakest of the Big 3 networks and should be the target of a massive boycott along with their advertisers. Sadly few NFL fans will go along.

Bush won twice with the same media. The people, according to polls, knew they were being propagandized and they just didn't care. We will not change journalists and telling people, again, how biased the media is probably won't work.

Compete, if you can. But a better message helps.

We can counter them with operations like the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. If the media won't cover, for example, a scandal like when Clinton was getting donations directly from Chinese red army, we put out some ads. SBVT showed that it didn't take a ton of money, and this will force the media to cover it.

Even with all of the media bias, the real reason we lost is that BHO has 600 million dollars which ave him a much larger GOTV operation. The sheer number of first time voters really made the difference. The media propaganda campaign is not as successful as they would lead you to believe.

I don’t think boycotting is a bad idea....

That's the best idea. Turn them off. Don't buy their publications, don't watch their network stations, don't listen to their radio.

And after listening to Brit Hume gushing about history in the making and listening to Sean Hannity talk about the 'sun will rise and you still have your health' crap on his radio show yesterday I turned off Fox News as well.

BTW Sean, healthy people watch the sun rise in Cuba, Communist China, et al, also, dumb ass.

It’s precarious, but we should always be able to get internet broadcasts and there are good conservative publications that perhaps wouldn’t be subject to the Fairness Doctrine. I don’t think the libs will be able to bring that thing back. People like Rush have too much money, and will probably personally fund efforts to stop it if necessary. O’Reilly certainly won’t allow anyone to remove him. Unfortunately these guys are closer to retirement age than not. Savage is another guy who is planning on leaving soon, I think. Savage is about the most objective and realistic of the bunch.

We make sure that president Obama puts big taxes on business profits and high earnings persons and generally passes legislation that cripples business. Since they elected him they should pay for him. That way the only way they can step out of it is to become very political and change the political terrain of this country which is to change the media. It makes me sick to see people like Sam Katz who are Republican controlling large Media companies and allowing them to be shill for the Dem’s. I say make them and their fasionistas friends on the Dem side pay for it.

Another example is General electric which gave us Ronald Reagan and now gives us Kieth Oberman and Chris Mathews and Matt Lauer. They also have huge defense contracts. Since the dem’s are going to be split about which defense contracts to cancel. Our people should make sure to come down unaminouslsy against GE and make sure they do not get any.

Here’s another idea. Since the Dem’s are going to introduce the fairness doctrine. We should talk about breaking up the networks when we take power againa. The FCC should decree that independent stations should get access to the same shows that the network affiliated stations get. That way there would be no need for the nets. Just by talking it up we could make them nervous at the very least.

Thanks for the link...... I’ve been focusing more on radio myself these days. Fox is cozying up to Obama a bit too much for my taste. Thank goodness for the internet or we wouldn’t have nearly as many talk shows to choose from....
When I first started listening to talk radio in the early 90’s, it was pretty much just Rush, along with a little Paul Harvey here and there. Larry King still had his radio show...... Ugh....... Imus might have been on then as well.

If there isn't a cable news network that counters the disinformation and censorship pumped out by NBC, cBS, ABC, CNN, PBS and MSNBC we will never win the White House again... except by fluke. Also... the network MUST declare that its creation was based solely on that issue. FOX News does not come anywhere near filling this role.

The media was nothing more than a cover for the conspiracy to steal the election.

The left tried in Florida when they thought to discount the military votes, they fell short in Ohio in 2004, but this time the stars were aligned with dem governors and dem secretaries of state and the theft worked like a charm.

The best way to counter some of these slanted media is to begin exposing the histories of some of these far left reporters....

Publish their voting records, political affiliations, any financial problems, or criminal history.... etc.

Yes, this sounds extreme, and it is distasteful.

But why should a so-called “private” organizations like a newspaper or TV reporter be allowed to investigate and publish dirt on anyone and everyone while keeping their OWN lives private.

Newspapers and TV networks claim they are “private” organizations and thus exempt from scrutiny.

Look what these cretin leftist reporters did to Joe the Plumber.

These reporters didn’t have to run with the leaks from Democrat state officials in Ohio... yet they did.

I truly think editors and publishers would be MUCH more careful if they understood that their leftist operative writers were gonna be scrutinized the same as their “targets.”

Is he for real, this country is about to elect a man who hates this country is racist and radical far left, his associates from Chicago will be at the white house and our enemies are happy right now

and Hannity says well I wish him luck

HUH

I hope all those rich get hit first my his tax increase, I hope all those who voted for him based on color get nothing out the deal.
All those students who voted for him can’t get a job in a couple of years because of obama ruining this country
why would any student vote for this idiot/racist, they are working at school to better themselves but they want to elect a man who wants to give money to the lazy
I hope all those rich NY Jews who voted fro him get the projects right next door to their big house in places like chappaqua
did you hear him say that it’s great now we have got past the race issue

ER NOT
The black community showed they are still racist, they came out in droves to vote for a non white man as they say one of their own

no Hannity racism is still alive and kicking and it is from blacks who came out just to vote for a man who ids non white, no votes based on policy but by color

For the "all news" channels, this is simply done. Most modern TV sets have digital capabilities, storing the channels in memory. Those channels can be deleted, so they never show up, even while channel surfing. CNN and MSNBC now no longer exist as far as my TV is concerned. ABC, NBC, and CBS require more discipline not to turn on their news shows.

Be sure to email your friends and tell them again and again about MSM political bias.

Until stop subscribing to their local newspaper nothing will happen.

Tell your friends they can get the local news online and for free.

MSM is under financial stress and are very vulnerable.

Give your friends alternatives.

Like IBD for their daily news.

Like World Magazine for weekly newsmagazine news.

I have DIRECTV. If your dish receiver is hooked up to a phone line, the dish provider knows WHICH programs you are watching. On my remote you can bring up a real-time prompt page showing which programs are being watched at that moment NATIONWIDE on DIRECTV. I believe it lists the top 5 programs. Solution: NEVER - NEVER - NEVER go to any of those networks, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS. Believe me, if all satellite viewers with phone connections would do this, the networks ratings would tank. Thanks.
