Although I have not always been the most outspoken advocate of President-Elect Barack Obama, today I would like to congratulate him and add my voice to the millions of fellow citizens who are celebrating his historic and frightening election victory. I don't care whether you are a conservative or a liberal -- when you saw this inspiring young African-American rise to our nation's highest office I hope you felt the same sense of patriotic pride that I experienced, no matter how hard you were hyperventilating with deep existential dread.

Yes, I know there are probably other African-Americans much better qualified and prepared for the presidency. Much, much better qualified. Hundreds, easily, if not thousands, and without any troubling ties to radical lunatics and Chicago mobsters. Gary Coleman comes to mind.

Yes, I am extremely happy that this “half white European American” won the election as President of the United States” ( NOT )! I have never even heard him mention his “whiteness” once in the 2 years that he was campaigning (and I listen 3 - 4 hours/day). I wonder why that was? Could it be that he really agrees with Reverend Wright, and Farrakahn and all of the other radical blacks that he hung out with over the years? “You are who you hang out with”. There has never been a truer statement written or spoken.

In two years you won't be able to find anyone who voted for him. I have a feeling he's going to disappoint the hard left. He won't go far enough for them or he'll do something which causes a looney left meltdown, such as invading another country. Naturally, he'll do plenty which will agitate conservatives. And I think the middle will become concerned when the economy hits a recession and stays there for a while.

After a year-long honeymoon as the first African-American president, he'll start paying for his campaign to be all things to all people. Some groups will be mad that he isn't able to produce the handouts they expected. Other groups will be mad that he hasn't radically changed his foreign policy from that of the evil Bush. At some point, he will be judged on his record. There's nowhere to hide now. If the market continues to suck then no matter how many times he plays the race card his feet are going to be held to the fire. Sure, it seems like he can do no wrong today. Just recall that both Bushes once had a 90% approval rating in this country and one won re-election.
