Billy Graham Won't Advise Obama Because of His Strong Pro-Abortion Position

by Steven Ertelt LifeNews.com Editor November 7, 2008

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Respected Christian preacher Billy Graham has been an advisor and spiritual helper to presidents dating back to President Eisenhower.

But that relationship with presidents will now come to an end because incoming president Barack Obama takes such a profoundly pro-abortion position.

To be sure, Graham's health is playing a part in the decision his son Franklin Graham told the Associated Press.

"My father feels like his time and day for that is over," Franklin Graham said. "But he would certainly like to meet (Obama) and pray with him."

But Franklin expressed concerns about Obama's abortion position -- something he mentioned to the senator during the campaign as a stumbling block -- and indicated that as the main reason.

He told AP the Bible is clear in its teaching that human life deserves respect and protection even before birth.

"President-elect Obama has heard our position," Franklin Graham told the news service. "And I told him that this was very difficult for us and hard for us. It's a moral issue that we just can't back down on."

"But he's our president-elect, and those positions that he holds that are contrary to Biblical teaching, I hope that God will change his heart," Graham added.

Obama's position in favor of unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy for any reason was a key issue for pro-life voters during the campaign.

Obama also came under fire for supporting the so-called Freedom of Choice Act, a Congressional bill that would make unlimited abortions under Roe v. Wade the national law and overturn the abortion reduction laws of all 50 states.

The senator also drew condemnation for his votes in the Illinois state legislature against a bill that would have made sure newborns who survive failed abortions receive appropriate medical care.

Wasn’t Franklin persona non grata at the Bush White House because he told Bush the TRUTH about Islam?

Billy’s theology isn’t always as sound as one might think.

God has blessed my life by sending Billy Graham. He is a man I’ve always respected and known to be doing God’s Will.

Good for Billy!!

Abortion is the millstone that is around the neck of America. (Luke 17:2)

The only question is when will God toss us into the sea?

So will Jeremiah Wright or Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton become the new Spiritual Advisor to the Presidents?

Or will it be Rick Warren?

“I hope that God will change his heart,” Graham added.”

If not then....Oh that’s just mean.

“If Obama is serious about having a diverse cabinet, won’t he have to get a strong evangelical/born-again Christian on the team?”
___________________________________________________________

Because NO strong evangelical/born-again Christian would want to be on his team. He would not be welcome either.

Jerry Wright, Michael Pfleger, and Jim Wallis will be Obama’s “spiritual advisors”.

All pro-abort, all preach socialist/liberation theology.

It wouldn’t have mattered sadly. We’ve reached the point now where the perception of improving one’s pocketbook trumps the right of the unborn.

“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Yes, that is true, however, Obama claims he is a Christian and yet clings to his sin and the bible is clear on this issue, you shun them.

The chances are not very good that Obama will ever figure out how things really are. We still have to hope that somehow against all odds, Obama changes his ‘values’, whatever they are. The alternative is too grave and too terrible to even ponder.

If he does not learn in time, we will soon have live-born babies being stabbed through the heart on an operating table. Land of the free becomes land of the ghouls.

Obama had a very strange upbringing, with a Communist mother, a Communist grandfather, and a Communist mentor who may have abused him as a child. It seems to me that nothing short of God knocking him off his horse like St. Paul is likely to change his mind.

And keep in mind that Paul was not consciously a sinner. He was a fervent Jew, who thought he was serving G-d by persecuting Christians for following someone whom he thought was a false messiah, until he was suddenly struck down by the truth. Obama has, I suspect, been warped and twisted all his life, and it will take a powerful miracle to change that.

Billy Graham would not hesitate to visit a sinner. He visited Bill Clinton and tried to advise and help him. I suspect he must fear that Obama is too far gone for him to help. Maybe that’s a wrong reading of the case, but he does seem to be suggesting that Obama is much worse than clinton.
