Barack Obama conducted his first press conference as President Elect, with Vice President Elect Joe Biden and his Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel at his side and his economic advisors, looking appropriately dour and serious, standing behind him.
There was not much in the way of news made at the Obama press conference, aside from a shot taken at an old lady named Nancy Reagan. The majority of the questions were about the current economic situation and what Obama intends to do about it. The short answer appears to be the enactment of some kind of economic stimulus package, the shape of which is unclear.
Some components of the economic stimulus package were discussed. There will be some kind of bailout for the automobile companies that will force them to make fuel efficient cars. There will be an extension of unemployment benefits. There will be some kind of "rescue package" for the middle class.
Barack Obama took a cheap shot at former first lady Nancy Reagan, suggesting that she held séances. This was in response to a question of consulting former Presidents. No doubt this will cause Barack Obama's unsavory image among conservative Americans to be soiled even more, at least until and if Obama apologizes.

I had to laugh - the Obamabots in my office were saying “oh the Market would have gone down if McCain had won, too.” Keep telling yourselves that, fellas.

Ron Reagan is gay and was only a dancer, but Rahm is a tough little f*(k#r. He is the epitome of *short man syndrome*. Picking him for COS was a message and the media and pundocracy got it immediately. The message was “Don’t eff with me.”
It is too early to make any connections for the zerOids. It will probably take 2 years of one party rule (not governance, please note)for even the most astute of them to begin to vaguely make any connections. The media is also covering by saying exactly the talking point you quoted.
Wait until they express some anxiety about something. Then just state whatever zerO’s position on that may be. Let them think about it. Wait til the next time. Repeat with another action directly relating to their unease. I did that late on election day when a young woman who is trying to start a beef herd, is engaged to another farmer and who also works for an organic co-op confided that the organic corporation is suddenly feeling the effect of the economic fallout. I just matter-of-factly said that zerO (I did use his name)will do to ag what he promised to do to coal, only via the carbon cap & trade. I made sure to look and sound grave. It registered with her, although she didn’t say anything at the time. I didn’t belabor the point, call names or make any other comment. But when the carbon issues come to the fore, I will bet she remembers.

The Ayatollah Hussein IS NOT the President elect yet, and may never be. We will see what the Electors decide mid-December about supporting an illegal alien as President of the US. McCain may yet win.
