CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said Friday the GOP lost the White House because the party was tainted by corruption, overspending and "sometimes came across as a bunch of grumpy old men."
. . . . .
"All we have to do is go back to the basics of fiscal conservatism, with a smile and come up with new ways to communicate with the younger voter," said Graham, who captured 58 percent of the vote in winning re-election against a little-known opponent.

No #%(@%, Sherlock! How long did it take you to figure that out?!!!
Looks like Lindsey is scared now that his master McCain is defeated and Rahm Emanuel is up on high...ping!
Obama is positive this country sucks.
Can we please be done with Lindsey the snarling sycophant Graham now?
Go away Graham. The Republican does not need or want you.
Hey, Twinkle Toes, take some of your own advice and
Loser! Move aside and let some real men run the show for a change. Go on back to Floyds Barber Shop and reflect, or something.
Hey, Lindsay Grahnesty, you had YOUR CHANCE to do something about the GOP and how diseased it is with RINOism. And what in the hell did you do about it? Did you EVER take off your knee pads?
My husband and I voted against him in the primary. I cannot understand why he won it. Maybe because we have an “open” primary system? *shrugs*
I love SC (am a transplant from Florida), but the open primaries here have got to go!
Senator Lindsey Graham sits down to pee.
Graham should have said he will watch Obama closely for us, and prevent him from destroying this country.
THAT is the headline the public should see.
WHY ARE REPUBLICANS ALWAYS KISSING DEM ARSE?
Umm...yeah. First thing we need to do is cleanse the party of Senators that only get 58% of the vote against unknown opponents, vote for all the big gov't spending programs and talk about new ways of communicating with younger voters.
can we make a list of those we are planning on tossing overboard?? We will start with Lindsey.
Always nice to hear from the female Senator from SC.
Senator Pot, meet Senator Kettle.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Conley ran on $25K-$30K.
Conley came out of nowhere. He is more conservative than Graham. And, he ran without the support of the Democratic Party, financial or otherwise.
The conservatives are coming for you in 2014, Lindsey, if Rahm doesn't get you first.
Now that the election is done, I can say it: Lindsey Graham SHUT THE HELL UP!
I’ll donate Specter. I’m not really from PA anymore but NJ is beyond each for now.
Dems ran several “conservatives” again this year as they did in 2006. Most toed the line once elected though. House has a few true Blue Dogs
we sometimes came across as a bunch of grumpy old men. That's your buddy John McCain you're talking about there, Lindsay.
Does anyone know if Lindsey Graham was once a woman?
No Lindsey’s womanhood happened the day they castrated him as part of his initiation into the senate.
Gramnesty would not know what conservatism was if it walked up and bit him on his dumb *ss.
Hard to tell he may be just on those pre-change meds.
Dear Lindsey Graham,
You have tainted the GOP.Get out!
The best thing about McCain’s defeat is that we won’t have his “best friend,” Lindsey Graham, paraged before us day after day.
I agree with you on open primaries. Also think it is time for Iowa, NH, and Michigan to go to the back of the pack and not be first in the Nation. We are having people from blue states pick our candidates.
Would light-loafered Lindsey please take a long hike off a short pier?
This POS originally ran for congress SWEARING to term-limit himself. No permanent congress critter, he, no sir! Nope, just a short stint as a citizen pol, then back home.
Lying sack of toro mierda was seduced by the Washington power game, now he plays holier-than-thou.
Lindsey, remember your self-term-limit promise?
“Senator Lindsey Graham sits down to pee.”
Is that a bad thing?
Maybe Rahm can teach Linsdey some ballet positions.
Yep... you (Lindsey) came off like a grumpy old mean vindictive arrogant man (the man part is questionable), calling Republicans "bigots" who didn't agree with you.
Somebody get Lindsey a mirror.
Oh, yeah... as part of that "fiscal conservatism" you are supposedly touting, will you please quit voting for massive bailouts and carbon taxes?
The fundamental message is that the government is not very good at anything it does. The secondary message is that the government pisses people off constantly. The third part is that the unintended consequences of anything the government does are a myriad of special interest considerations from a preference for union labor to racial and gender quotas to expensive programs concerning social justice, safety beyond the bounds of probability, to pork and set-asides. The government needs to get out of the business of how we raise our kids and out of the business of local education in every way. The government does a decent job with the armed forces, a fair job with weather forecasts, a tolerable job in foreign relations, and for the rest of it they are clueless and confused. Fire most of them and save megabucks. If there is anything worth doing that would be left undone, the private sector will take care of it, or the state and local governments can do it better than the feds and with more sensitivity to local wants and needs. Good enough for government work once meant quality workmanship, craftsmanship or skill. What does it mean now?
As when Lindsey called the Republican voting base "bigots" because we wanted the government to enforce the law?
I really wish that the GOP had lost this Senate seat.
The reasons they lost were:
Nobody likes a tough long war, even Winston Churchill was fired after a great successful war.
I fault Bush for not defending himself more against the Democrats attack on the war, soldiers and the President.
What stopped President Bush from using the pulpit of his office?
The economy tanked along with banks in the last 6 weeks and the voters were too dumb to find out it was Democrats that caused it all. So instead of firing Democrats, they hired more and a new Democrat President.
The voters were too lazy, just pointed at President Bush for everything and left out all truth and history.
The other issue is the press. They should be considered an arm of the Democrat party and Republicans should be allowed to get free equal time in their papers and TV shows to respond IMO.
Jesus Christ, he was one of the worst!
I see Mr. “Open-Borders” has checked in.
I did not even know that Graham had a primary opponent; it must have been one unknown, for voters won’t vote for unknown candidates unless Oprah tells them to.
Great idea. The next RNC chairman should be dedicated to removing the first primary from NH. I don’t think he would get very far on that point, however, as Republicans think they must have NH, but it is Democrat now and likely to remain so.
Perhaps they should be in red states first?
Alaska, Texas, Oklahoma, ...
I know there was one, but if I recall correctly, he wasn’t flush with $$$ like LG was.
Anyone watch that 1/2 hour mopemercial/sobfest?
It’s amazing people didn’t slit their wrists after watching that!
I wonder how McCain likes his best buddy calling him a “grumpy old man”? LOL
Graham should just sit down and shut up. He has no allegiances to anyone. He needs to “knock that off”.
Seriously Lindsay (say, if I ever have a daughter, that is a damn fine name!), the adults are talking. Keep it shut.
Apparently trashing the free market and capitalism in favor of marxism is positive according to Graham. I can’t believe this guy was reelected.
It’s amazing how many Republicans fail to study and follow Ronald Reagan’s great example - here we have the most important figure of our lifetimes, a highly successful R. president, and most in the party fail to study his speeches, ideas, and methods.
Hell, even his immediate successor, George H.W. Bush, acted as though he were not living in the shadow of the greatest President of our lifetimes — so Bush resumed his RINO ways and got defeated by a lying huckster from Arkansas with a trail of bimbo eruptions.
Every Republican should be required to study, discuss, and analyze everything that brought success to President Reagan.
