This is not a game -- we do not shake hands
Las Vegas review-Journal ^ | 09 nov 08 | Vin Suprynowicz

Having been raised a Democrat, I know how Democrats pride themselves on their tolerance and sensitivity -- especially toward those with different views.

Among the messages of tolerance and sensitivity I received from Democrats during the final days before the Nov. 4 election were the following:

-- "You go ahead and do that, Vin." (vote for McCain-Palin, presumably.) "The rest of us pinkos will be busy running every branch of government and redistributing your juicy assistant editor paycheck."

That's perhaps the one refreshing thing about this race. The socialists were at least out of the closet, admitting precisely what they plan.

This is not original but works for me - I tell my dem friends that I will have the same respect for O as they have shown for George Bush.

So far, no one has responded to that comment.

Perhaps they never thought about ‘what goes around, comes around’. I will never forget the horrible treatment, the vile words used against President Bush in the last 8 years.

And they want it to be sweetness and light from now on. I think not. Every lie that the man tells, every promise he breaks, I will remember.

Let’s get back to that old idea of an aristocracy of merit
- By Charley Reese
- Published in the Orlando Sentinel on April 20, 2000

It is time to revive the Jeffersonian idea of an aristocracy of merit before the last vestige of American freedom drowns in the cesspool of egalitarianism. When I was boy, people were not shy about saying of someone who neglected or abused his family that such a person was “sorry and no good.” And they were not shy about saying it to the sorry-and-no-good person’s face. They did not stoop to treat a sorry-and-no-good person the same as they treated a fine-and-good person.

To do this is to betray the fine-and-good person. Our handshake and smile should be reserved for those people whose virtue earns it. If they are offered to people whose behavior is less than virtuous then the handshake and smile are debased and degraded. Of what value is our approval if we grant it freely to every bum, slut, ignoramus, liar, and criminal we meet? We become no better than a courtier who smiles at and flatters everyone in sight. Some people don’t deserve a smile, only a cold and formal address.

It is not true that everyone is as good as anybody else. Some people are definitely superior people, and some people are definitely inferior. Some people are intelligent, and some people are dumb. Some people are industrious, and some people are lazy. Some people are kind, and some people are mean. Some people are considerate, and some people are rude and boorish. It is not enough to acknowledge the virtuous by our approval; we must also acknowledge the bad by our disapproval.

Americans ought to be able to tell the difference between a communist and libertarian, between a dissolute person and a moral person, between a responsible person and an irresponsible person. But to do that, Americans must have standards, and apparently government schools and the news media are working diligently to make sure that Americans don’t develop any standards.

Americans ought to be able to tell the difference between literature and hackwork, between art and trash, between great people and mediocrity. At one time, they could, but of late people seem increasingly unable to form judgments.

They seem to believe that there is only one virtue and that is tolerance. Tolerance, however, is not a virtue. It just means acquiescence, and nobody should tolerate rude behavior, irresponsible behavior, dissolute behavior, criminal behavior and the betrayal of oath and trust that is so common in Washington, D.C. By the same token, discrimination has been made into a “bad word” though, in fact, it simply means the ability to distinguish between good and evil, the worthwhile and the not so worthwhile.

Well, there is no secret about who is pushing the society without standards. It’s all those people who would be in deep trouble if people had standards: talent-less bimbos; goofballs pretending to be artists; dissolute crooks serving in public office; and amoral executives promoting obscenity as entertainment. In short, the incompetent, the amoral, and the immoral.

If you go back to the 1950s, when the decline of America began, you will hear the advocates of the sexual revolution telling you that once Victorian and Puritanistic hang-ups and repression are eliminated, people will be happy, healthy and wise. Well, all the restraints have been removed, but instead of happiness you have an explosion of crime, suicide, broken families, venereal disease, and rampant dishonesty. Wow, what a surprise.

Hedonism is one of the oldest philosophies, and its results have always been the same: the decline, decay, and eventual collapse of civilization. People have forgotten that only moral societies flourish.

“...and redistributing your juicy assistant editor paycheck...”

One of the points I’ve made over the past weeks is that we need to change the language from “redistribute the wealth” when we condemn socialism and communism to “redistribute earnings.”

When we condemn socialism and communism by saying that it “redistributes the wealth,” we’re accepting two premises. 1. that there is class divide, which is true, but the implication is that it needs to be bridged by government action or inaction, and 2. that we’re going after “the rich.”

Socialism and communism do not redistribute wealth, they redistribute earnings, from upper to lower incomes and everything in between.

What they redistribute equally more than anything is poverty.

SCREW the DEMS and their Socialist society. I have changed from being right of moderate to far right as I have seen what moderation has gotten the GOP thus far.

Climb in the gutter and defeat the enemy using their tactics against them. Organize, raise funds, and hire investigators to expose the illegal campaign contributions and where they came from and expose the massive voter fraud. Expose the truth to the American people and then demand prosecution and jail time. Next priority, investigate every member of the US Congress . Until the American people clean out their government, we will continue to lose our freedom and become slaves. Our heritage is not one of subjugation. I don’t believe the American people will sit idly by while their children and grandchildren’s futures are destroyed.

The model set by Liberals during the past eight years, IMO, ain’t gonna be anything compared to the seething rage that will grip the nation as their freedoms are taken.

I had my first (very public) case of being called a racist last night - I was surprised at my reaction. It came from a person who travels to Hollywood every chance he gets to watch the taping of the Bill Maher show - and his regular rants and hate speech. I asked him about it - he walked off in a huff. I don’t know how I’m going to continue to deal with this - here in LA we are also dealing with the YES ON HATE (8) stuff also.

I was surrounded by lots of other acquaintances - Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese - who started to look at me with a ? mark on their faces. Once they started to think about it, they realized how many years I have showed my loyalty to that organization, if I was truly racist, I wouldn’t have been there.

The public schools taught them that it is discriminatory to form judgments.

To which the conservative answer should be: "You say that like it's a bad thing." But too many have bought into the Left's scam that judging anything is the ultimate in wickedness.

What you write, GPM, is entirely correct.

One might add that all the while socialism and communism are redistributing earnings from the successful and hard-working, these two closely related social malignancies also redistribute personal responsibility for carelessly acquired debt from the bottom of society.

2. that we’re going after “the rich.”

The problem this cycle is that to the American public, "the rich" means people like Jeffrey Skilling, Ken Lay, Bernie Ebbers, and Richard Fuld.

To the Democrats, "the rich" means you.

The public saw Obama as one who would go after the corrupt CEO caste - "Bush's friends" - and it doesn't have a clue what Obama and his goons are really after.

At this point its not a scorched earth policy against the rats but a scorched Neocon or Rino if you prefer, policy.I for one will never, ever vote for another Neocon again,I don`t care if its a tight race,I don`t care if the whole election is at stake.

Either I get Reagan Conservatives to vote for or I`ll vote third party! And I don`t give a sh*t what people think about that! These rats in Republican guises have betrayed what the party should stand for and if the “good ole boys”,country club network is so strong as to prevent the primary`s selection of Reagan Conservatives,if it takes letting rats do the dirty work of getting rid of the stinkin Neocons, them then so be it.

My loyalties are to my country and it`s founding principles of Individualism and Capitalism,NOT A PARTY,ANY PARTY!

Yes, indeed.

As Churchill said, “Capitalism is the unequal distribution of wealth. Socialism is the equal distribution of poverty.”

Part of what causes the second part of that maxim is what you said. The class warfare of socialism/communism (and we need to continually link the two terms, because they are not two separate ideologies, but two phases on the path to fulfilling the same goal) divides the doers and the takers. In doing so, the demonize the doers, thus validating to the takers that they should not do, that they should continually take, whatever they can and however irresponsibly that may end up being. This erodes the foundation of our nation's economic and cultural fortress.

I happened to notice that that Saving Private Ryan is being shown tonight, which really put things in perspective for me.

I ask myself if the children who are being brought up by the State these days would be willing to sacrifice, either in uniform or out, like our parents and grandparents did to see our nation through those horrible dark times.

Our love of our nation, of freedom and the opportunities that we have is being ever watered down by those who have never been expected to earn what they have been given.

These teeming masses have but to ask for it and have it given to them, they vote for those who will, in all honesty, enslave them with their basic necessities and ask for nothing in return but a vote every two years. Cheap at twice the price for those who never known anything else but instant gratification at the expense of others.

When 51% of the people are dependent on the other 49% for everything they have, then I feel this nation will falter so severely that she may never be able to come back to the glory that she once was, Constitution or not.

I fear nothing for myself or my wife, but my three children and their future has been the thought keeping me from a good nights sleep since the election. Too many people just don’t understand what they have done to our nation by electing this man.
