Rebuild The Party
Rebuild the Party Website ^ | November 9, 2008 | Unknown

As Republicans, we face a choice.

Either we can spend the next several months -- or years -- trying to figure out what just happened, excusing our defeat away as a temporary blip or the result of a poor environment, and waiting for Barack Obama to trip up. Or we can refuse to take this defeat lying down, and start building the future of our party now.

2008 made one thing clear: if allowed to go unchecked, the Democrats' structural advantages, including their use of the Internet, their more than 2-to-1 advantage with young voters, their discovery of a better grassroots model -- will be as big a threat to the future of the GOP as the toxic political environment we have faced the last few years.

The time is now to set in motion the changes needed to rebuild our party from the grassroots up, modernize the way we run campaigns, and attract different, energetic, and younger candidates at all levels.

We must be conservative in philosophy -- but bold in our approach. We don't need a slight tweak here or there. We need transformation. We can't keep fighting a 21st century war with 20th century weapons.

I think open primaries should be the first to go. This is how we ended up with McCain.

Don't forget Dodd.

No “%*@$#&^’n” RINOs this time.

Let them join the Dems where they belong or go independent or other party.

We need to keep the party clean, clear, goal oriented and on our side.

The GOP had to fail, due to its very construction, due to the fact that it’s an open association.

It was inevitable.

Ain’t gonna happen. The Left has firm control of the GOP, and it isn’t going to let go of it again.

The best you can hope for is more lip service and feel-good deception.

especially fiscal conservatism

The only part Ron Paul had wrong was the war on terror, but he was only 1/2 wrong on Iraq. We need constitutional conservatism across the board. Sound money, clear cut and haul out the stumps of the regulatory/legal system, drain the swamp and kill the lawyers, fiscal conservatism, and get the hell out of the way of hard working enterprising folks trying to do productive things.

Ooooops I meant Dole not Dodd. Dole was the first time I noticed the RAT cross-overs controling the nomination of the GOP.

The best way to do this is just to start one ourselves and when we run across RINOs, we challenge them to post their own results. I get the impression JimRob isn’t interested.

We don’t need a new independent party. We have the American Conservative Party and the Libertarians.

Would the adminstrators create a separate link for Activism, apart from news. So we can act, then create the news?

Fist we need a leader. Where is the person who will begin and take the reigns of our new fledgling party? Some names have been mentioned but I have not heard them or anyone else say they are ready to take on the task. It has to be someone who is not afraid of arrows and someone without a single skeleton in the closet. The liberal medial will have a filed day with them. If such a person does step forward we need to support them in every way, not just talk or blogging but with cold hard cash, even to the point where it may hurt a little. Money is power and we are going to need a lot of it. We then need to establish a board of the most trusted conservatives in the country. This board will establish our conservative platform that anyone who joins the party must abide by in order to remain in good standing. This committee will have the power to disassociate the party with anyone who violates the rules. Anyone who even mentions “reaching across the isle” will be summarily executed (just kidding but close). We the must mount an arduous drive to get the few true conservatives in office to sign on with a promise of full support.

I am re-registering with the Conservative Party.

Work to change the Republican Party. Having more than two parties is how Hitler got into power - too many fractured parties.

The “American Conservative Party”? Never heard of it. And the Libertarian Party is not conservative.

America’s Independent Party, founded this year by FReepers and other Reagan conservatives, is already the third-largest party in the nation based on voter registrations. And not only does it represent conservative principle, it’s being built right.

#2 Change the campaign rhetoric. The tactics used in the campaign were horrible, so negative turned off a LOT of voters, me included. I don’t care for Lindsey Graham but he was correct the RNC looks like a party of grumpy old men.

Sure, that is a new idea, lay down and whimper. Graham was the Moron that wanted Leiberman on the ticket.

Kev here is one for you to put on your list.

I like the idea of “rebuilding the party”. However, how do we do this when we are facing 20 million+ new “citizens” and their families? They will ALL be voting DimocRAT.

The time is now... not a year from now. Not after Obama has screwed up but now. We have to fight and every time we hear a mushy headed go along to get along Republican Politician talk like it’s better to agree with the Dem’s than oppose them we all work to see him or her out in the street.

No more Nicey-Nice!

#3 Get new blood and I don’t mean Palin types, too fringe.
***Zippy the pinhead seems like a typical RINO to me. What can we do to shed light on these fringe types if JimRob won’t go along with it?

Abandon the sinking ship and get on board the USS Constition! Join the Constitution Party. We have to save the US Constition. Let's start with a party that is named after it.

With the illegitimate (Kenyan born?) president, and the socialist/communist policies being implemented, we now face the most serious Constitutional Crises since the American Civil war. We need a party dedicated toward saving the Constitution.
