"Reaching across the aisle," to two republican senators in a democrat controlled state

Two new cents to anyone who can, now or later, name two democrat senators made this offer in a Republic controlled state. ANYTHING for 60 votes? If you have any republic senators in a democrat controlled state, call and warn them to be careful. 4 "accidents" are possible with this crew.

I heard on the news Obama The Red was going to reach across the aisle for cabinet positions..and my thought is that any republican who took such a post would be fulfilling his goal to get this bipartisan look to things so the sheep will follow willingly into his trap. they better not do this.

How abut Nelson (NE) for the position he covets: Dept of Agriculture?

Though I won’t hold my breath.

A million dollars if Obama’s appointments (whether Repubican or Demonic) are not 100% pro-abortion.

(Disclaimer: Anyone Obama appoints is ipso facto pro-abortion.)

“Wow- he is not transparent at all, is he?”

Yup. And everyone needs to gush about how bipartisan he is and how wonderful he’s reaching across the aisle, but (drop eyes, bat lashes, smile coyly) our senators have a sacred duty to those who elected them to represent them in the state.

You know, if the left is going to play, we can at least play better.

Smarmy sweet and coy can’t be criticized, because if you do, then you are the one being nasty.

Learn to gush and dissemble.

There are former Clintonistas that have expertise in this area. Just count the number of bodies (accidents, suicides and mysterious deaths) from Arkansas to Washington, D.C.. It could happen this way: sitting at a park bench in ForT Marcy Park with two bullet holes to the head, a gun in your hand and not the caliber of the slugs in your brain-pan. Or, your car is T-boned by a cement truck on your way home from the office...

On a side note, maybe Specter will accept...

"Snowe and Collins = RINOs"

Snowe, Collins, Specter, Hagel, Lugar have been voting with the Democrats for awhile. They used to be joined by Jeffords, Chafee, Vinovich, John Warner, DeWine, McConnell and others. I've been calling them LIRDs [Liberals in Republican Disguise].

>>I’ve been calling them LIRDs [Liberals in Republican Disguise].<<

At the risk of being banned, I would use a term my DI’s at Parris Island were so fond of using - Trainees Under Recruit Discipline. In this instance, It would be changed to Traitors Under Republican Disguise.

It will be awesome to watch the Democrats do that, to see McCain try to reform the Gang of 14 to compromise, and to see McCain get his butt kicked by his former "friends" over it.

Maybe he'll finally realized how used he was by his friends.

Since they’re RINOs, and seldom vote with their own party, I’m not sure losing them to the Sublime Porte would be a loss.

Nebraska has a Republican governor. He needs a state with one or two Republican Senators, and a 'Rat governor to appoint the replacement. Furthermore the Republican Senator must be a RINO. Not that those are hard to find in the Senate, but if the two from Maine won't bite, it's unlikely others would either.

Stopping the filibuster threat only requires a Senate rule change. If they can’t get enough for a filibuster proof Senate from the election they will simply change the rule. Snowe and Collins will probably vote with them anyway.

If either Snowe or Collins took a cabinet position, it would be only a matter of months before some drummed up reason would be created to force them to resign and they would be replaced with some leftist.

O must believe Republicans are fools and he has good reason to think that.
