Some members of ar15.com (to include me) have been trying to do something positive for 2nd Amendment rights since the results of this past election day rolled in. Lots of people are scared about our future. Some are even panicking. I realized something had to be done. So a bunch of us started brain storming and came up with the idea to begin an effort to unite EVERYONE who has an interest in firearms or freedom in general. The purpose will be the rapid dissemination of information if and when anti-gun legislation is introduced in Congress. Rather than having hundreds of pro-gun online forums or organizations which are scattered and fragmented, our intended goal is to have at least one representative from every firearms message board, shooting club, the NRA, the GOA, the Citizen's Committee, manufacturers, dealers, gun shop owners, firearms magazines and publications, gun smiths, and as many gun owners as possible, etc all together under one roof, where we can rapidly plan and counter any threats to our freedom. Each group leader will also have the roll of passing on news to the members of their group. The goal is not to replace or be an alternative to any of these entities that already exist. The goal is to simply make sure that any information or ideas from any one body makes it to everyone else. Our effort isn't about making a profit. We will all be strictly volunteers. And while money may become an issue somewhere down the road (we are discussing hiring a lobbyist), the goal is not to require anyone to pay to become a member at this time or make donations. Instead, send those to the NRA, GOA or Citizen's Committee where they will be best put to use.
As of right now, me and those who have joined with me in this effort are planning the design of a website and a forum. The website will contain news updates, as well as contact info for all Congressional members at the federal and eventually even the state level. The forum area will have a private section where each group representative will be able to discuss efforts, make plans and make decisions about our direction. It will be an equal partnership and everyone will have an equal say in group matters. There will also be a sub-forum for every state, where planning and coordination of activities can take place at the local level.
If you would like to see how this all began, how the effort began to blossom and how it evolved, you can read the thread here:
But in short, if you don't have time to read through that whole thread, we want to create the firearms community equivalent of the Emergency Broadcast System. By having everyone with a firearms interest linked together in a close network, we can rapidly alert all gun owners and freedom loving Americans the moment a bill is introduced in Congress. And then together, we can effectively direct the response to such a situation. Depending on the situation at hand, we will have the ability to send mass emails, mass text messaging, get the information and instructions posted to every firearms website on the net and have everyone working toward the same task in a unified manner to create ONE VOICE. We can swamp the House and Senate leadership with phone calls and emails all at once. We can write and call our own senators and reps. We can plan marches at the state and national level. But by having everyone working together, and that is the key, we can do all of this at a much higher level and with much better coordination and success.
If you would like to join with us to make a stand for our 2A rights, please either respond to me through an IM, send an email to email@example.com or sign up and post in the thread linked above at www.ar15.com. Provide your contact info (email will be fine) and someone will let you know when the site and forum are up and running and you can join in. If you wish to represent your business, industry, club, online forum, publication or whatever, please let that be known so you can be granted special access to the private forum that will serve as the group's nucleus. Together we can prevent any future assault weapons bans or other restrictive legislation that threatens our freedom.
Thank you and God Bless.
I’m on board. Look, they can pass whatever bs legislation they want, but we aren’t giving back the guns, period. And if they try to come and get them, we simply need to stay organized and resist at every turn. They don’t have the personnel or resources to even make a dent in it (and they’ll likely get a dent or two themselves when they try!).
Screw these a-holes. The Constitution doesn’t disappear just because the wrong people get in office. That’s the primary reason the founders put the 2nd Amendment in there in the first place.
Good idea, you should probably set up a phone tree as well, in case your web is “down”.
BTW, good “Fist” post. :P
As good of a first post as any.
Unfortunately, our right to own a semiautomatic rifle will soon be in jeopardy. I believe Hussein will push for it. I just wonder if the congress has the guts to do it. They remember what happened in 1994 after they passed Clinton’s gun ban. I believe many democrat congressmen will not want to open that can of worms.
Good call. I’m signing up for ar15.com tonight.
"Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets."
Quit playing diplomatic games with the opposition.
Go big or go home: repeal 922(o) and NFA ‘34.
“Unfortunately, our right to own a semiautomatic rifle will soon be in jeopardy.”
Seriously, if we get organized, they can’t do a thing about it. It’s just bs that we are the only ones who have to follow legislation we don’t agree with. Fags all over California are once again rebelling against the gay-marriage ban, illegal aliens continue to come here and live here and freeload illegally on our resources, Acorn can break laws and falsely register people for the vote, and nobody ever does a damn thing about any of it.
We’re not giving up the guns, period. And if they come, they get a 75 million American ‘Iraq’.
Correction change.gov, I guess I should get used to all businesses being government owned. :-(
They think if they ban a few semiautomatic rifles because of what they look like, inner city violence will be solved....
They would go further with that goal by ending the war on drugs, but that's for another thread conversation. You don't stop inner city violence by imposing a wrong headed weapons ban, you end the violence by removing the reason for gangs to fight in the first place. I'd wager that most inner city violence is some how tied to drugs, and drugs are an issue because of prohibition.
** bookmark for later **
Semi auto rifles account for far less gun crime than hand guns and the supreme court has already upheld the application of the 2nd in that case.
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.
But many semiautomatic rifles have black plastic on them and look 'mean' to ignorant people. Many in the media even call them "assault rifles".
Granted, weapons technology doesn't change that the quickly and if there were an M1 Grand and/or M1A vs. AR15 war, the earlier generation of weapons would not be disadvantaged. However, ammo, accessories and parts would be difficult to come by--7.62Nato has virtually dried up now. Fight and win and restore the right, or play a game of diminishing returns.
I believe gun control is being able to hold it steady and hit the intended target.
2nd Amendment PING
Plenty of these on the gun boards too. They ridicule the folks buying mags, ammo, etc., as the "Democrats aren't stupid enough to pass any kind of anti-gun legislation. They'll get kicked out again."
As if this will stop them from trying. Some idiots just never learn.
Oinkbama is primarily concerned with the possibility of his kept voting blocks whacking eachother in drive-by shoots and what not. Somebody needs to start constructing skeet ranges in these inner city areas and provide them with a healthier outlet for it...
question: i am a lefty and was pointed in the direction of stag arms and their lefty AR-15. the reviews seem to be pretty good. anyone have any experience?
in lieu of posting a vanity i am just gonna pose the question on gun-threads.
i will now go back and read the article!
What do you think convicted felon gangbangers with 3rd grade educations are going to do once the profit is taken out of illegal drugs? Do you think they will start flipping burgers?
“They think if they ban a few semiautomatic rifles because of what they look like, inner city violence will be solved....”
No, they don’t. They think that can can convince enough of the electorate that this is true, but they know better. The goal is to disarm the subjects, making them easier to rule over. Period.
Sadly, given the election results, they will probably succeed.
I joined ar15.com 2 days ago just because I saw that post and thought it an excellent idea. We need to be prepared and fight back.
“They think if they ban a few semiautomatic rifles because of what they look like, inner city violence will be solved....”
No, they care not about the inner city violence, they realize their policies have helped create that despondent culture of hate. They want to disarm the people...then they can quit the democratic bs and be what they are openly.
Someone needs to write a book about rebellion. The radicals like William Ayers have written all kinds of things about how to take over America. We need to have inspirational writers do the same, but from our side.
The tools to fight the next revolution will primarily not be guns. The most lethal weapons are our brains. A modern revolution would not be fought as was the civil war. It would be fought in the schools, mainstream media, and Hollywood. Oops, is that not what the liberals have been doing?
Someone needs to write a book about rebellion. “
Unintended Consequences by John Ross
Even more than our Canadian neighbors, who refused en masse to register their firearms when their government enacted national gun registration, I think you're going to see MASSIVE non-compliance among Americans to any such “edict.”
The question will be decided on this: If I'm willing to die to keep them, are you, Mr. National Civilian Security Force Member, willing to die to take them away from all of us?
Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. You should look at one of these. Gun made for both left and right handers, can also shoot .233 or can convert and shoot AK-47 rounds. Kind of cool.
I doubt it, but chances are, whatever they move on to, there won't be an unnatural inflation of prices due to prohibition by the government.
my only question would be barrel length. i think it has to be 16" where i am. i am sure it come with that option.
i should look for dealers in my area. the guy i talked to last week when i went to a gun shop said that stock is hard to come by lately. surprise, surprise!
Try not to forget NYC, please. I’m know we’re already down the toilet, but there’s plenty of us around, including me, that care much more than your average New Yorker about firearms laws and rights over here.
If I were to run for mayor over here, I’d sign Executive Orders destroying firearms laws, starting with registration databases.
The Nazis started with those in Germany.
Makes as much sense to me as outlawing gun ownership for law abiding citizens. Criminals break the law, so why would they comply with any new gun laws? The Clinton Assault Weapon Ban did absolutely nothing to lower crime rates.
I love how they want “common sense” Gun Laws, but they don't want “common sense” Abortion Laws.
I only believe BHO’s record. His word means nothing other then his recent anti-gun comments, i.e., Ban. I offer the following quote on our status:
When governments fear the people there is liberty. When the people fear the government there is tyranny
Excellent first post!
As I implied, violent gangbangers who can't read and write will not re-enter society on the lowest rungs because they can't make money selling drugs. They will turn to home invasion robbery and kidnapping for ransom as is already happening, especially in our southwest.
Yes, “Unintended Consequences” by John Ross is a must read book. I’m going to dig my copy out.
Amen. This fool takes an oath to uphold the Constitution and then pretends it doesn't exist, then I figger he isn't really the President and anything he says means dick.
Bump for later
sounds like my tag line...
There is something else in the works for this as well. I’ll be making a public announcement in the near future that will be critical for stopping Obama and his goons in their tracks on attacking the 2nd Amendment.
Keep up the good work!!!
I’m right there with ya, gundog. Our side just has to step back for a minute and realize that if we don’t want something to happen, it ain’t happening. These commies can pass whatever gun laws they want, and we ‘just say no’. What’s their recourse? 5 million Ruby Ridges? Get real. They don’t have the resources.
Great to hear Mike. We need all the folks and muscle we can muster. I’m really scratching for all the potentially positive angles that offer light. Many others are as well with few choosing not to participate which really bothers me.
Thanks for the encouraging comments.
Yeah I know it a thread and it’s first not “fist”. Just spent too much time tracking everything down on multiple forums to notice the boners.
This is newly created site for latest. Multiple domain names have been secured and many talented folks are working or awaiting info behind scenes. Our Constitution and Country are at stake and we have no choice as duty bound - needless to say.
tag ;) Remember, two is one and one is none.
PM sent. Ping.
Their goal leads them to considering 5M Ruby Ridges. That being obviously infeasable, they will get real ... and consider a different approach that will lead to the same goal.
Do not for a moment think they will cease pursuing their goals just because one obvious path obviously won't work.
Recourse? Squeeeeeeze. There ARE ways of tightening the screws, causing people to give up, get out, or faithfully cooperate. No, they won't go door-to-door ... but they CAN spread FUD, increase hassles, and impose intolerable costs. Oh, they might not disarm everyone in short order, but if they can get most to give up voluntary, then the war is largely won.
