Good grief! I can’t imagine putting so much time into dissecting Peggy’s ramblings.

But I would like to propose a different date as to when it began: June 9, 2004.Noonan never got over the loss that came with the end of her excellent adventure with the Reagan adminstration. It was Noonan's own personal version of Camelot. She idolized Reagan and I believe resented anyone with the temerity to try and take his place. Relevance? Ronald Reagan's death June 5, 2004.
The rest of this stuff about Oatsie et al., coming a scant 4 days after RR's death, is adventitious. Noonan suffers from unresolved grief.

Excellent analysis,Rose. I am sorry about the thoughtless comments above. Still, I think she was right dissing Bush’ 2nd Inaugural Address, I remember that very well, and I remember the Bushbot reaction here. As for Hussein, she and all the pundits are wrong from the get got if they cannot utter the words ‘marxist’, ‘communist’, ‘unrepentant red diaper baby’.

There’s a very simple conclusion from Noonan’s own writings:
She’s in teenage schoolgirl love with The One (piss be upon him), and it makes her feel young again.

Good piece, well written. Well thought out.
I’ve often wondered what happened to her. Thanks for attempting to sort it out.

Its the nature of women. They are not warriors.Thought the above-referenced statement might conceivably be of some faint interest to you. ;)

"Its the nature of women. They are not warriors."Both a cop-out and false.

No thanks. I’m done with the woman.

Come back, Peggy! Go away Peggy.
She swoons over a well turned phrase and ignores the thoughts behind them. She judges people by their accent not the ideas they offer.
PN has always been a shallow sort of person who likes to think that she is deep.
In truth she has all the depth of a mud puddle after a five minute rain.

I lost all respect for Peggy Noonan when she said what she did about Palin when she thought the microphones were off.Me too! I never her from the Reagan years and had no idea how far she had fallen in the past few years. She can go away and stay away. We real conservatives don't need her!
