EVERYONE I know who goes to the Houston church of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is VERY VERY conservative, I worked with some of them.

You're probably correct. This shows what schmucks they are. They are helping to fund their own defeat. Familiarize yourself with the NCC. They are a pro-socialist/communist, anti-Christ organization. I left the evil ELCA and I admit I despise everything the NCC stands for and will never fund one cent to a church that belongs to the NCC. No Freeper should either but I wonder how many of these super complainers about the Republican party on here belong to one of these "churches".

We have to look to the realities of this election and make some sense of it , and learn from it.

Thank God for a sane voice.

I again brought up Sarah as a perfect Counter.

come on, she was only governor for less than 2 years. She was either pregnant or just gave birth to a baby with Downs. She wasn’t ready at the time. If she was elected VP with mccain, she’d have the experience to be president 4 years from now. She wasn’t so she’ll have to work on something else.

“If God be for us who can be against us?”

“. The fact that God is “for us,” and that he is making all things work together for good to those who love him, is the central thought, the essence, the strength of this message to “us.”

Trust God.

Me too.....and I’m one too! Born during the depression, lived through WW2 and even had a Father who ran for US House in the 30’s. Loved Reagan and he even came from my town, but the best part was HE had a love affair with this country that didn’t quit. Reagan’s knowledge of the Founding Fathers and what makes the Constitution the great document it is is, livability! The security it gives you and me from big inflated government made our country unique in the world. It looks like that era is over.

Sure, I’ll do something. Put me in charge. The Dems won’t know what hit ‘em...

That sounds kinda like McCain's sales pitch. You really need to do better than that.

First step: A new procedural rule that no state that went blue in the presidential election can hold its primary until after Super Tuesday. The states that had the biggest majorities for the republican candidate in November should be the states that get the earliest influence in the primary process of selecting our next candidate. New Hampshire and all the liberal northeastern states should get to select from the leftovers after the truly red-state GOP voters get to downselect the field.

Her experience has already been addressed. We don’t need another insider RINO. We tried that with McCain and Dole.

the problem is, imho, that if you are a true conservative today you will be labeled a racist.

you are anti-immigrant, anti-minority, anti-poor.

with the growing number of poor immigrants (legal and otherwise) it may just be impossible to elect to true conservative to a national post. this coupled with the rise of the secular anti-religious folks, it just might be a lost cause. thanks to them, true conservatives are thought of as fundamentalist religious freaks.

Actually The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America isn't that bad. Depends on where you are. The one here in Lake Jackson, Texas isn't very liberal at all. I have been to it and also to the other Synods of the Lutheran church and not all ELCS churches are liberal. The sermons are very conservative and they use the old liturgy and catechism.

Wake up, buffyt. Hanson makes liberal proclamations and demands on government in the name of all 4 1/2 million (and dropping) members. Including you. Money you put in the collection plate goes to liberal causes. Go to their web site and look for "Lutheran Office of Government Affairs." See how much of that agenda you agree with. Local congregations can take on a local flavor, but nationally, and the vast preponderance of synods, it is a lost cause. I know whereof I speak, having spent nearly a decade moving the Lutheran congregation I belong to out of that mess. We made it.

Take a look at lcmc.net and see if there is a congregation near you.

Primaries are how the states select THEIR delegates and are guided by state law. The national party has no authority or jurisdiction to change that. They can refuse to seat delegates but you can see how that worked for the Democrats.

The Republican party consistently puts forth a candidate for President, V.P., etc., ... of someone that came up through the ranks and “paid his dues to get his turn”.
In other words ...

OLD,WHITE HAIRED WHITE MEN” PAST THEIR PRIME AND JADED BY WASHINGTON POLITICS. Pale and anemic in appearance and attitude.

FRESH TALENT IS NOT WELCOMED; UNLESS IT FITS THE IMAGE OF WHAT THE LEADERS BELIEVE TO BE “THEIR IMAGE.

While the democrats take all comers, (After all they are voters.)

Year after year we make the same mistakes ... all the while expecting different outcomes. DUMB. DUMB.

We must return to the “Constitution” and be smart about it.

We really defeat ourselves. Shame on us for not uniting and standing firm for freedom and liberty. Less taxation, a reduction in welfare, work programs for the able bodied that are on welfare, reduction and elimination of earmarks, limit the access of Lobbyists, refuse to allow conflict of interest, by having close relatives and friends not able to fill important congressional jobs,

Ok... As President, first EO would be to de-fund the "F" portion of the BATFE. Flat out refusal to violate the Second Amendments "shall not be fringed" provision at any level of Federal Government.

Things would get progressively more interesting from there. Just because Congress passes an unConstitutional law, creates no onus on the Office of the President to enforce it. The President can't create law, and only needs to enforce the ones that line up specifically with the Constitution. Read the oath of Office.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Nothing in there about enforcing blatantly unConstitutional Laws. Period.

As head of the GOP, RINO's would be on notice. Revocation of funding and support would be used to ensure that the core Party principles were adhered to. Don't like it... find another Party. All Party planks would be based off of Constitutional principles for Federal Offices. State and local office holders based on Founding principles and their respective State Constitutions. No laws, initiatives, or programs would receive a dime of support if they fall outside of a specifically defined duty in either State or Federal Constitutions. Current programs would be looked at to determine effectiveness, compliance with Constitutional limits, and basic common sense.

Also, no more of this spineless apologizing for being conservative crap. We're right, we know it, and we have history on our side. Never back down when you know you're right and make them bleed politically for every inch they gain.

How does that sound for starters?

BLA BLA BLA! Last straw after many insults and poor decisions by W. I haven't claimed to be a Rep since Bush41. They don't want my help or need my help screw’em. They can continue down the path they are on into oblivion. People were looking for a party when the Rep party was formed. I have vented about this to both my good Senator Ensign and Rep. Dean Heller one on one. They will not even try to argue the Rep side at this point - very telling.

DC, that sounds damn good for starters. You should have lead with that.

Your point about Presidents not enforcing bad law pertains. I have often said that when one of them gets nerve enough to tell the SC that a bad decision will not be enforced is the day that true checks and balances will be back. I just hope the pinhead we now have doesn’t get the idea.

meh... I could go on for days with the stuff that needs to be either ended or dumped back into the private sector. My wanting to sell NASA off to Virgin Galactic, Lockheed, Boeing, and Space X probably wouldn’t go over well. Nor would shutting down the FCC completely...

In the words of one Republican Woman at my meeting, we can not look backwards, we have to look to the future. Learn from it, but we have to adjust. I do think both parties have a week selection of talent to run, and I think that is because the political process, sometimes doesn’t allow the cream to come to the top. AS for the “old bunnies” some of them might surprise you , as to what they have been thru in their political lives.

I have one older black Republican woman in my group, who has always been a Republican, her family was for Wilkie over FDR, her family could not stand FDR. She will tell you , she has been Republican all her life, and she will tell you the reasons, and it is inspiring. She will also tell you how the party has shifted in ideology over the years.

We must take back the party and kick out the Penny Loafer Country Club Republicans and replace them with real working men and women. We have TWO years before the next congressman elections. We need more people like Joe the Plummer. We need to get Talk show people to run, business people, actors with conservative views, even churchmen to run. What is Huckabee doing on TV—we need him in Congress! The party must be rebuilt from the bottom up. The Grass Roots. We need to take over the state houses, the big cities, the School boards.
Our Banner should be “No Marxism” “No Abortion” “No Anti-Americanism.” If you love this nation fight for her with your Treasure and your sweat. If you do not, you may have to fight for her with your blood in the future. These are not the times to sit back and let others act. Our experiment in democracy is under attack. We must work harder if we do not wish to give our children a life under a benign form of fascism.
