Everyone wants to complain about the Republican Party, but No one wants to do anything about it!

I would like to suggest to those who are discouraged by the results of the Republican Primary, and the Presidential Election outcome, that you join your local Republican Party as soon as possible.

That you actually attend the meetings, take on the jobs, do the work, not for your own political gain, but to support your conservative priniples and conservative candidates who will have mass appeal( like Sarah Palin).

Four years will be here before you know it, and we can not take another setback of this magnitude.

It is time to start promoting NEW CONSERVATIVE TALENT ,not just promote the same old codgers who run year after year. You can not wait til the year of the Presidential Election, it should start immediately, so you can see how the process works, if you are not already involved. Our Republican politicians are not getting any younger, and we need candidates who can stand up to the rigors of campaigning.

I know four years is a long time to work without pay for the Republican Party, as officers, and footsoliders, and attend meetings that might not be your cup of tea. But SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT!

I remember sitting in a local Republican meeting over a year ago, when the state campaigner for McCain attended our meeting and starting his promotion of John McCain, even before Obama was the nominee he would be running against. I grilled him over and over on McCain's age issue, and told him I was not ready for another failure in a Presidential Election because the candidate was too old ( remember the Bob Dole vs. Clinton )election. Well of course , my worst fears came true, only Hillary Clinton did not come President, it was worse than that, it was Barack Hussein Obama.

WE HAVE TO START NOW! WE NEED A NEW GENERATION OF CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS TO GROOM FOR HIGHER OFFICE, NO MORE FROM THE GERITOL GENERATION.

You may think you need to start up a third party, but the reality of it is, that the Third Party will not win. When was the last time a Third Party Candidate became President of the United States? Of course no one remembers, because it has not been in our lifetime.

Get out there and reform the Republican Party to fit your conservative principles, and find New Younger Candidates to run for President of the United States in Four Years. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

My question is:

What are Freepers doing now to change the nominating process in their states so that Moderates, Independetns, and Democrats aren’t choosing the GOP nominee for 2012?

“The next best thing is to write letters. Not rants but constructive guidance. Be consistent, be persistent. You would be surprised how many of these people haven’t a clue and actually welcome calm, rational voices telling them what needs to be done. Find out who the officials are and write them every week or at least monthly. Follow with an occasional call. Let them know who you are.”
=====================================================\

Very good idea....I plan to write one to highlight the things that went wrong in Broward Co. Believe me, it will be a long letter. Those of us who volunteered need to do this otherwise the RNC will only hear the accounts of state and county chairs and they cannot be trusted to tell the truth when it makes them look bad. Mind you, I have no intention of dragging any one person down. What I want to see changed are obsolete practices that no longer work.

For those of you more internet savvy than I am could probably tell the party a thing or two about its best use in future campaigns.

This may be vanity with my thoughts and ideas for the future, but I know of what I talk about, when it comes to the Republican Party and how it runs. I am involved, have been involved in three different states. I worked in three Presidential elections in Massachusetts, and was a delegate to State Republican Party convention in another Southern State, and have been officers in several local Republican organizations. I have eaten dinner with Governors, and met Senators, and I am telling you.. the GOP NEEDS NEW YOUNG TALENT, AND I AM TELLING YOU THE GOP IS EVOLVING AND YOU CAN HELP IF YOU DESIRE TO HELP , BUT YOU CAN NOT WAIT TIL 2012.. YOU NEED TO START NOW. AND THE OTHER POINT.. THE GOP NEEDS NEW YOUNGER TALENT. or you can expect more of Obama in 2012

At least we can feel good about our votes???
The life of this nation is at stake and you are ready to go third-party and let the country be destroyed so that at least you can feel good about your vote?

We need to do what is highest right under the circumstances, and from that you go on to higher and higher right. That’s how it works. You cannot just demand that you get exactly what you want right now, or you’re going to take your toys and go home.

Can't seem to get the fools fantasizing about 2012, to think about the congressional elections in two years. They are into the grape cool aide.

What can be done to remove the first primaries from being held in Iowa and New England? Both are liberal areas with either a fraud-ridden caucus process (obama openly imported supporters,,, do we doubt they did it with our side too),
If its not a caucus, its a vote with very lax registration requirements that is also open to people registered “independent”.

The system is skewed to strengthen pro-abortion, country club, global warming-type republicans.

I’m a conservative. I don’t care about the Republican Party. First, they obviously want to be liberals and moderates.

"we need to unite, but it aint looking promising at least not on FR. it is starting to look like the beginning of the primaries again :( if we keep threatening third parties and refusals to vote we will never win. no voting gave us pelosi and now obama. dont think it could get worse? give them 4 more years...."

I concur. If we simply want to vote to make ourselves "feel good", then we are going to be out of power for the greater part of the century, if not eternity...

If a Republican wants to promote big government, that Republican should join the Democratic party. If the Republican wants to win, he or she should run on a smaller, less intrusive government platform. The candidate must also be able to sell the platform to the average voter. Reagan was able to do this. If you are not, don't run.

It is all in the packaging of what you are promoting. Next time the Republican Party wants to Present its less big government platform , they should put it in a younger attractive savy package. Not sure substance matters on a National level. STart figuring a way to wrap your package more attractively.

The Republican party is the ONLY way to advance a conservative agenda—there is no other way. Get out there and work. Run to be on your couny central committee.

You go to work Grandma. I have better things to do!

Conservatives get used by the GOP. Today, the GOP is still blaming conservatives for their loss. They have only paid lip services to us in the past and nothing is going to change in the future so long as we are a captive audience. We elected President Bush, one of the most liberal GOP Presidents in memory, only to have Mr. McCain run on a platform that, unlike Bush, he would reach across the aisle more often.

The only way any change will happen within the GOP is from the outside. I will happily send my money and time to conservative grass roots organizations who will dole money to the GOP only after they have produced results.

Stop being beholden to a party and get on track with a movement.

We need to oppose legislation now. Immigration is key. If Osbama grants amnesity to 12m plus illegals, we will loose forever. We need to be sitting on our Reps door steps and never let them forget that a majority of voters don’t want open boarders. It will take a herculean effort by conservatives to torpedo this movement.
By all means..we hope them demonstrate just like the queers are doing now. It consolidates opposition.

I actually loved Sarah Palin, but we can not put all our hopes on her , we better be shaking the bushes and looking for the absolutely best choice now. If Palin is the nominee, I would be glad to hold her sign in 2012.

Thank you for listening.

Thanks for sounding off. Individually I can't affect the national party and its success in a huge way. I will continue with my donations to various efforts and volunteering on campaigns. On the local level I have taken a larger stand. I have advocated and will lead a serious of strategic planning meetings (at least as long as they tolerate me) for my County's Republican Central Committee. I'm not a member of the committee and will be coming at this as a consultant (though unpaid). I've done strat planning consulting for apolitical non-profits in recent years and will offer some of the same skills and techniques to this political organization. Wish me luck!

TOTALLY! By the time we had our Texas Primary, McCain had already been CHOSEN and many candidates had dropped out of the race. Our Primary was a JOKE and a waste of money.

There is a grassroots group that everyone can join and help the cause. In Houston they have already organized and hopefully will make a difference in all future elections. It is an activist group as well.

We did not even know Sarah Palin existed...

I did. Go back to the Primary threads. I had a list of folks vastly superior to McCain/Romney/Huckabee/Guilani that I was trying to promote here and elsewhere. When we thought it was going to be Hillary on the DNC ticket, I again brought up Sarah as a perfect Counter.

But Noooo... Party over Principles reptiles said, "But John's electable!" "Rudy is America's Mayor!" "Huckabee really is a 'conservative' despite all his idiotic baggage!" "But Willard has great hair! That's important, right?!?"

I called BS then, and the election proved me right.

Sarah is charismatic. She can get the message across. She isn't the only one, but she's already had a lot of face time due to her Veep selection. This is a good base to make a run for 2012. Starting NOW...
