I would like to suggest to those who are discouraged by the results of the Republican Primary, and the Presidential Election outcome, that you join your local Republican Party as soon as possible.
That you actually attend the meetings, take on the jobs, do the work, not for your own political gain, but to support your conservative priniples and conservative candidates who will have mass appeal( like Sarah Palin).
Four years will be here before you know it, and we can not take another setback of this magnitude.
It is time to start promoting NEW CONSERVATIVE TALENT ,not just promote the same old codgers who run year after year. You can not wait til the year of the Presidential Election, it should start immediately, so you can see how the process works, if you are not already involved. Our Republican politicians are not getting any younger, and we need candidates who can stand up to the rigors of campaigning.
I know four years is a long time to work without pay for the Republican Party, as officers, and footsoliders, and attend meetings that might not be your cup of tea. But SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT!
I remember sitting in a local Republican meeting over a year ago, when the state campaigner for McCain attended our meeting and starting his promotion of John McCain, even before Obama was the nominee he would be running against. I grilled him over and over on McCain's age issue, and told him I was not ready for another failure in a Presidential Election because the candidate was too old ( remember the Bob Dole vs. Clinton )election. Well of course , my worst fears came true, only Hillary Clinton did not come President, it was worse than that, it was Barack Hussein Obama.
WE HAVE TO START NOW! WE NEED A NEW GENERATION OF CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS TO GROOM FOR HIGHER OFFICE, NO MORE FROM THE GERITOL GENERATION.
You may think you need to start up a third party, but the reality of it is, that the Third Party will not win. When was the last time a Third Party Candidate became President of the United States? Of course no one remembers, because it has not been in our lifetime.
Get out there and reform the Republican Party to fit your conservative principles, and find New Younger Candidates to run for President of the United States in Four Years. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
My comment was made tongue-in-cheek with regard to the volume of vanity posts before the election from both noobs and old-times.
Public Skewls and Universities are practically brain-washing our youth. You are correct, Conservatives need bright, young, enthusiastic Americans to try to salvage Traditional American Valves from completely disappearing.
Not all Freepers are Republicans, but they are all Conservativesto different degrees, but if all Freepers were Republicans and involved in the party, then there would be more input in the actual process for conservative values. I myself am a Moderate Conservative, which to some Freepers is unheard of.

Closed primaries only. Unless a state has a closed primary, no delegates will be awarded to any candidates. Like caucus states, they will count as nothing more than a straw poll.
Republican primaries will have scheduled dates based on the % that the state voted Republican in the previous POTUS election. The true conservative states will vote first! We will have Republicans choose our candidate, not mushy RINO’s and RATS!

is VERY VERY conservative, I worked with some of them.
I am not sure what can be done in the New England States, having lived in one of the New England States for 20 years. But you need involvement in the local Republican Party in those states Iowa and the New England States, so that good candidates can be chosen for the local and state races.. that is a start.
Never give in, and never give up, get back to those boring local GOP meetings and make a difference.
"W" called you a name so you are going to pick up your toys and run away. If you are that thin skinned you shouldn't be involved in politics at all.
Had those of us out on the border reacted that way, the amnesty would be in place, and they would be talking about the next amnesty.

I don’t want to ‘feel good’ about my vote. If I wanted to ‘feel good’ I’d be a Democrat, sing kumbaya with Hugo Chavez and wear a ribbon.
Conservatives are about what works in the real world, not idealistic fantasies. And the GOP is the real world. It’s what we have so let’s fix it.
We have to look to the realities of this election and make some sense of it , and learn from it.
They are among the worst. That doesn't mean there may not still be some traditional pastors in the system but they're getting fewer and fewer.
Anyone still attending an ELCA "church" does not care about the true word of God and also does not care about their country.
The ELCA is in full fellowship with the Episcopal "church". This from another thread running today on FR regarding the Episcopal Church's involvment in Prop 8 in CA.
"Two more events in support of gay marriage are planned for today: a 4 p.m. street rally in Encinitas and a 7 p.m. interfaith service at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral near Balboa Park."
There is nothing good about the ELCA. Needless to say we left the ELCA years ago.
That is the way I see it too. Alot of the Republicans are older with health issues, memory problems, and can not use a computer. :-)

I consider myself a very conservative Republican and I see no other way to advance my agenda than with a strong Republican party. I may have to use some RINOs along the way but I’m willing to do it.
The “Pocketbook” conservatives in the Republican Party, those who are economic conserviatives only, but make us think that they believe that “it takes all kinds” (tolerant of sodomites and a little grass smoking kind of people), have got to recognize that conservatism is and must mean much more than keeping “free-trade” open with Red China, etc.
I do wish that the lewd, immoral, atheistic Republican Party members would just go ahead and move to the Democratic Party or join up with the Libertarians (Libertines). It would then be easier to support the Republican Party.
I let the fact that I was a nobody work for me. They didn't know who I was. I recall that I once walked into a Congressman's office and told them where I was from and they said "Yeah, all those people up there want _______. Actually it was only me but I was the only one writing letters.
All of my letters were respectful and at most four or five paragraphs long. That was the limit of their attention span and it was enough to get my main points across. If I had more, I saved it for the next letter.
In just a few months they were returning my phone calls and, more importantly, they were taking me seriously!
At that point, it became fairly well known that I had "contacts". People came to me to write letters for them and I did. Then I really had the attention of the Party.

It’s really amazing. I’ve been to a few of the meetings, and I attended the last RI County barbeque where we heard speeches by local and state GOP candidates.
With the exception of one, the rest were absolutely horrible. I actually felt sorry for a couple of them. It was clear by their selection that the county GOP had no real interest in beating the democrats, and this has been the status quo for as long as I can remember.
I wish there were enough of us here to join up and force these old dust bunnies into unscheduled retirements. They have made the GOP party here into a laughing stock.
