(CNSNews.com) – President-elect Barack Obama said in 2004 – while he was a state legislator running for a U.S. Senate seat – that he attended services at Trinity United Church of Christ every week.
This is in contrast to what Obama, as a presidential candidate, said this year after controversial anti-American remarks by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright surfaced. Obama then told news outlets that he did not attend the church frequently and was not aware of Wright’s comments.
The comments from Obama about his church attendance appeared in the transcript of an interview posted Tuesday on the religious news Web site Beliefnet.com. The interview was conducted on March 27, 2004 by Chicago Sun-Times religion writer Cathleen Falsani for a story on Obama’s faith, but the interview was not released in its entirety until now.
“One of the churches that I became involved in was Trinity United Church of Christ,” Obama said in the interview. “And the pastor there, Jeremiah Wright, became a good friend. So I joined that church and committed myself to Christ in that church.”
Obama began attending the church in 1988 and formally joined Trinity in 1992. Falsani asked, “Do you still attend Trinity?”
Obama answered, “Yep. Every week. 11 o’clock service. Ever been there? Good service.

Well I knew he was a member there for 20 years but I had not seen anything that proved that he had attended on such a regular basis, and I have been on FR regularly. Of course articles go by so quickly it is easy enough to miss a few.
It just seems there are a lot of things finding daylight all of a sudden, like the interview with Rahm Emanuel concerning a civil security force.
It’s reverse. He’s pretending he’s a good christian by saying he went every week. Even Rev. Wright said Obama was rarely there. He considers himself a Muslim. He should come clean about it.
No he has not joined a new church, but he has sought “spiritual counseling”. He has consulted some gay bishop overseas. There was an article on FR about it. I just hope he doesn’t do something really stupid and have a guy like that involved in the inauguration.

Consider his illegal alien aunt, living in subsidized public housing in Boston. First, Obama claimed to be surprised by this revelation and his campaign decried the dirty tricks employed in the release of the story.
Several days later, it was exposed that Obama had totally lied about his aunt: he knew about her whereabouts and his campaign manager (David Axelrod) had another former client and Obama ally, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, keep tabs on the aunt.

There was one particular passage in Trinity’s brochure that stood out, though, a commandment more self-conscious in its tone, requiring greater elaboration. “A Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness,” the heading read. “While it is permissible to chase ‘middleincomeness’ with all our might,” the text stated, those blessed with the talent or good fortune to achieve success in the American mainstream must avoid the “psychological entrapment of Black ‘middleclassness’ that hypnotizes the successful brother or sister into believing they are better than the rest and teaches them to think in terms of ‘we’ and ‘they’ instead of ‘US’!”Of course this denunciation of bourgeois "middleclassness" is a purely marxist idea.

How many weeks are there in a year?? 52, right
20 years times 52 weeks of attendance per year is 1,040 times that BOH exposed himself to his pastor, his friend and his mentor during that 20 years.
For the life of me, I cannot understand why Rush, Hannity, Boorz, et al are not using the 1,024 number instead of 20 years. Quite a difference when the appropriate number is used.... right???
