Obama doesn’t know enough qualified people on his own. Hence he hired all the old Clinton flunkies as his aides. What a shame. Now is a time when real thoughtful people should stand up and take important roles, instead we will have this puppet presidency, a large international contraction, and a massive government intervention into private industry.... just the opposite of what we need.

I just took a glimpse at DUmmieland...they don’t like the idea. In fact, they know Obama is smarter than to appoint HRC as SOS.

One discerning poster did make a comment as to the fact that they’ve appointed every other Clinton crony...why not HRC.

Naw... She was defeated and didn’t pull out. Clinton isn’t going to be Sec. Gen. of the UN.

O might arrange for an unfortunate accident. Maybe sniper fire while Clinto visits the middle east?

Hill actually scared me more as a Supreme Court Justice than as a Sec of State

Exactly. SoS is only temporary, SCJ is for life!

Does anyone else wonder what in the world constitutes “Breaking News” on this site anymore? I originally put this there immediately upon viewing it at 6:40 PM live on NBC Nightly News where it was presented as “late breaking” and was clearly not part of the original planned broadcast. This post has now been removed from Breaking News on FR. Just as a side note, in the breaking news sidebar, the bottom story is dated November 10, 2008. Can anyone explain this? Thanks.

There was an earlier story on here about this from the washington post.

I’m sure Hillary would keep a low but professional profile, avoiding upstaging the POTUS. Like Hell, that isn’t going to happen IMHO.

Like her predecessor Madeline Dimwit, she’ll look like a cleaning lady to the Bosnians.

Now that’s a great idea! Put a crazy misogamist (hater of marriage—a word that came long before the irrelevant word, “misogynist”) in charge of foreign relations. While they’re at it, they should cut the number of diplomats down to a handful or so.

Just tell Hillary that a man-hater in Iran was raped, and voila! The Iran problem will be dealt with. Obama will draft an army of millions to take care of it and pander to feminists.

I'm thinking it could be a great way to get her out of the way early. During the FBI background check so much information which would be dangerous to her future will be developed, and a few of the Republicans in the Senate will have the cojones to grill her on it and make an issue of it - Obama could shrug his should ers and say “Gee, I thought she's be a great Secretary of State, but..” as he withdrew her nomination. He kills three birds with one stone...

You think things would have been different if Reagan didn’t fire Haig?

I think Reagan had enough sense that da Bush's did not in dumping the Nixon/Ford era foreign policy advisers. Reagan also had enough sense to listen to all but act wisely in most cases. His stepping away from main stream foreign policy led the way to the changes he brought about. I don't think any Nixon/Ford era people involved in foreign policy under them could have accomplished what he did.

I'd say he drove both Haig and Schultz bonkers by not staying inside the foreign policy fishbowl. I'd credit Reagan with the foreign policy successes of his day. Remember he wisely sat back and let Israel end Saddam's nuclear program. Since the end of the Reagan era all administrations have tried in vain to dictate Israels affairs. In doing so they have perhaps stood in the way to what could have been a pretty good M.E. mop up.

No way Bill could keep his nose out of the process. jmo.

Sure he could, The One would just have to keep him supplied with hot and cold running Bimbos. Then video the proceedings and tell Bill to "cool it", or Hillary sees the videos.

This would actually be a good thing....

Remember, Hillary has been nothing but an unmitigated disaster at everything she has tried to do. You mix that with the fact that she will be the most heavily scrutinized SOS in history, and I see nothing but one blunder after another. She would never survive a full term, and she would be finally utterly destroyed politically.

Great idea-—gets her out of the Senate. After the Obmanination’s term is over she’ll be gone from politics.

I find that hard to believe.
I can’t believe she’d be anywhere in this Administration - too many ex-Clintonites would cause loyalty problems and lots of tension.
