Posted on 11/14/2008 7:25:12 AM PST by Laissez-faire capitalist
Although a week has passed since California voters overturned that state's Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage, the state has felt numerous aftershocks as gay rights activists have mounted large-scale protests directed at supporters of Prop 8, specifically the Mormon church.
... Demonstrations outside Mormon temples were reported over the weekend throughout California and more are anticipated nationwide. The Mormon church, however, is not the only Prop 8 supporter coming under criticism for its role in the controversial election, as Catholics and Evangelical churches have seen protests, as well.
An estimated 10,000 gay-rights protesters gathered in San Diego, Calif. outside Saddleback Church. The church is home to Pastor Rick Warren...
... Catholic churches were also protested Sunday, and one protest in Michigan turned ugly.
A group of about 30 gay rights activists from the group "Bash Back!" stormed into Mount Hope Church in Lansing. Mich. and unfurled a large rainbow flag at the pulpit. The group also tried to disrupt the Mass by banging on cans and shouting "Jesus was a homo."

Just because they supported Proposition 8...
Were it not for Latinos and blacks, Prop 8 would not have passed, since a slight majority of whites voted against Prop 8, and a slight majority of Latinos and 70% of blacks voted for Prop 8.
Right, the blacks and latinos have nobody but themselves to blame for this.
This keeps up, it won’t end well.
The Left really don’t like democracy unless the ‘masses’ have been duped into voting their way. Even the biased media didn’t help them on this one — in California, no less.
Conservative churches and conservatives better get mobilized like never before.
Homosexuals don’t care about the ballot box. It’s just a formality to them.
If it comes down to both sides engaging in endless lawsuits that bog this country down until most of America finally says that its had enough and says to always leave things like this alone after its been voted on, then so be it.
That’s what it has come to...
Depends on your definition of "well"...................
Back in the late 60’s, the homosexulal refrain was “just leave us alone, all we want to do is live our lives.” Now, as predicted, it is “do it or else.”
Baseball bats along with the hymnals and bulletins in the back of the pews would put a stop to this, pronto...........
Anti-Romney-Mormons freepers must be happy.
‘When they came for the Mormons, I did nothing ....’ It is going to get worse before the Battle is won.
It may come to that.
Homosexuals will only have themselves to blame if it does.
Sore HomoLosers !!
Back in Weimar Germany, the National Socialists also loudly proclaimed themselves victims of the oppressive democratic regime, which did everything in its power to give the Nazis the benefit of the doubt as well.
Homosexuals are bashing blacks and Latinos in California.
They blame blacks, Latinos and churches for Prop 8 passing.
Can our crystal night be far away. “You will be persecuted for my name’s sake.”
There’s a big difference between homosexual and asexual. Most Catholics would consider Jesus to be asexual, at least that’s what I drew from my years of catechiam.
Probably only about 10-15 anti-Mormon-Romney Freepers here at FR, anyway.
And LE that looks the other way needs to happen too
But these gay protesters called Jesus a “homo.”
Several homosexual authors have written books saying Jesus and his disciples were homosexuals.
Homos for civilization? America upside down.
>This keeps up, it wont end well.
Civil War 2?
Churches need to have their exorcism rite at the ready for such attackers.
If so, you must think Ahhnold is a the next Conservative Superstar.
Pure HATE SPEECH...why weren’t they arrested??
They're are counting on, at some point, a Federal Court to rule in their favor. However, they won't be happy until Orthodox Christianity is ruled a hate group.
And the Homosexuals are right.
The Homosexuals weren’t bothering anybody, until a bunch of blue-noses got their knickers in a twist because they were entering legal contracts and having parties. So they put a stop to their fun.
It’s not like the gays are going in there and shooting up the churches.
The gays are the HATERS
raging and destroying anything that opposes them
like spoiled brats, only worse.
They demand that we accept their Unatural life style.
the hate us and they hate God.
Evangelicals, Catholics, blacks, Latinos, Conservatives, and so on, have to fight back 1000 times as hard as homosexuals fight them.
The UN Natural President.
Knights of Columbus “ceremonial” swords?
Yes and just about everybody came around to accept that but it just was not enough for them. The majority of people accept civil unions that give them all the same rights as married couples and even that is not enough.
I guaranty that if we accept gay marriage the next thing they will demand will be for gay men to have babies. The fact that they lack a womb will only enrage them as they struggle against lifes oppression.
sorry to inform, you but the bluenoses were the majority vote in the election. the people have spoken.
Democracy is fabulous
The Knights Templar may have to be resurrected.........
And what happens when the bluenoses vote to overturn the second amendment?
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Wow,and you survived here for over a year?
Nope, not hate speech.
Only white, straight, middle-class, Christian, conservative white men are capable of Hate Speech. Didn't you get the memo?
we have a representative democracy. it doesn’t depend on what is up for a vote.
Because there are no laws against hate speech. Clearly the Michigan incident involved tresspass. Most states have laws against disrupting religious services. IMO, some of these sound very close to that. There's a Synigogue in Michigan which has been picketed for years by palestinian supporters. Including photographing and compiling lists of worshippers, which in my view is disruptive, but there's not much law enforcement can do as long as the protestors aren't violent.
No, you are wrong.
You are siding with anti-constitutional liberal church disruptors and haters like them, and so you don’t belong here at FR. This is a place for grass roots CONSERVATIVES.
They will rock society to rubble if they have to to get their way, and only their way, and everyone else’s way be damned.
It has been a constitutional principle and societal principle for Western society for over 200 years that marriage be left up to the states, and only the states, not the courts.
Gays don’t care about that. They dont care about voting. They want only what they want, the ballot box be damned. So, they must be stopped, because what the hell does the ballot box and “of the people, by the people, for the people” matter anymore if voting becomes just a formality
yeah, what’s with that? i guess they try to equate it with being black so why not elevate it to equivalency with the right to bear arms. it’s nonsensical, but apparently this is what passes for rational thought these days.
Saying “Really do you wet your bed at night?” is a personal attack against him.
You will stop this or you will be reported to the mods.
No personal attacks allowed at FR.
You’ve been warned.
It seems to be only a matter of time before you get Zotted.
Ahhnold is not changing actually changing the other way. Romney changed his views. Everybody is entitled to change once. Didn't Reagan been union leader (actors union) and a democrat before he became conservative ?
Don't you want the people on other side see the light ?
Overturn the second amendment?
That’s fearmongering on your part.
BTW, are you a homosexual?
