If the left wing is gearing up for such a push, I had trouble detecting it. A search of the liberal Daily Kos website turned up almost no mentions of the Fairness Doctrine. And the site's founder, Markos Moulitsas, said by e-mail Thursday that he sensed "zero impetus" to make the change. A search of these same sites prior to the Amnesty bill last year would have had the same results. The amnesty deal was essentially a bolt from the blue. That is the way it works when the politicians are eager for something for their own purposes. The Fairness Doctrine would be a similar bolt from the blue.

even in an era when the vast multitude of radio stations are owned by a few conglomerates.Notice the caveat? And no mention of cable tv, satellite radio, internet , etc?
I think its going to be pushed , regardless of Lefty's opinion..

Anybody who says the Dems wont try to shut down talk radio is delusional.
As soon as the moonbats figure out that the Fairness Doctrine would mean conservatives would get half the time on NPR, they'll back off. Every liberal I know listens to that leftist garbage all day long.

conservatives would get half the time on NPRNo problemo, NPR will give David Brooks 30 minutes a week.

I think the guy is right. The Fairness Doctrine is a RED HERRING. The justification for the implementation of the original fairness doctrine (limited broadcast stations and sources for unbiased political information) simply don't exist any more.
Any attempt to reinstate the FD would result in a constitutional crises and huge lawsuits from hundreds of media conglomerates.
The left wing whack jobs would love nothing more than for us to cower in fear and give in to a Marxist policy or two in "exchange" for backing off the Fairness Doctrine.
We are acting like frightened children hiding under our beds.

I spent 2+ months in Canada last year. You should listen to the pap they have to listen to all day. Anti-US bull poop and just plain lies. Their TV is equally biased.
They should have to put on 1 hr. of lib, 1 hr of Conservative, etc., and make the libs get off their lazy asses to change stations or turn the radio off, or what ever they would do to avoid listening to the truth.
