Levin is bigoted in favor of the unions. Without them, he wouldn't be in Congress. And that's the main reason the government should NOT do a bailout.

In a bankruptcy, BOTH the bad management AND the strangling unions would be out on their ears.

Leave the selection of the new guy to the board or the shareholders, definitely. I agree.

Levin should be willing to go also. We need a comprehensive solution.

Agree, I guess.....

But this problem didn't start with the current CEO's either.....and heck, much of the current mess is on the shoulders of those bums in Congress that now want to punish the guy's they helped put under??

Makes about as much sense as electing Obama POTUS....

Here’s an idea for Sen Levin.

If you’re going to push for this, make the legislation such that citizens can invest private money alongside the gov’t funds.

Any elected official voting for or supporting this measure must put a substantial portion of their personal assets in the plan and disclose their level of investment.

How about it congress? You’re telling us you think this is a good idea. Prove it. Put YOUR money where your mouth is.

...then I believe they should consider resigning.

Seems like the Dumbo-rats have also done enough to have this shoe fit their collective feet!

I just don’t think there’s a lot of people with extensive experience that could be hired. And if there were, they’d have to be convinced to work under strict government oversight. And in Detroit. Good luck with that.

A bankruptcy appointee will handle the job at 1% of the salary.

Hey Levin, why don't you and Stabenow and Grandholm resign while you're at it?! And the UAW chiefs, too?! You all are a pox on our nation!

Nimrods.

How about Levin and Granholm resign, along with all of the union leadership, and then let the companies figure out what to do next, but without any “bail-out” from the feds (all of US).

I’d say the companies need to go through Chapter 11 re-organization, void all contracts, etc. and figure out what they can afford to do going forward. Seems like they are turning out some good vehicles, but their economic model is completely broken and not competitive.

Who is going to lead them? How much talent does it take to run a company into the ground? Just grab someone off the street and they could do the same thing.

Franklin Raines isn’t busy. I’m sure he’d make a fine CEO of Ford. They could even re-brand the company, and call it Frankie Mae Ford.

And I would be in favor of firing Levin and the rest of his cronies who have shafted us year after year and in ways and amounts that would make private businesses look like five and dimers.

Maybe Levin should just shutup.

Levin is part of the problem that got the big three where they are today.

Maybe, but it would do far more good if the UAW members would resign.

He should resign for trying to bail them out.
