I do hope that no one gets offended. I post the video because, in light of recent attacks on Gov. Palin, to show 1) how conservatives are historically characterized as “dumb”; 2) how Ronald Reagan laughed it off; and most importantly 3) how he got the last laugh because he stuck to his conservative convictions. I also post it because— just to see Ronald Reagan laughing—, makes me feel better about the current state of the nation and the conservative future..
Don Rickles is still great, after all these years...
I try imagining how well Obama or some other Dem Messiah wannabe would hold up under a similar roast. I can’t. Can you imagine The One sitting still for an SNL skit like Sarah’s, and being there in good fun?
I have all these old Dean Martin Roasts and this one is great.

Me too, and I’m happy you liked it- I was a little concerned that some Freepers might take it the wrong way. Gov. Palin has to learn to be ready to laugh at the insults- and perhaps, she, like Pres. Reagan, will be able to laugh all the way to the WH.

I was a big fan of CPO Sharkey.
RR will always be timeless. And I know its why we like Sarah so much....she has a Reagan heart. She takes no BS from anyone. And unlike some Rino’s who would rather be ‘inclusive’, she thinks we should get back to the basic core conservative principles and stick to them! Reagan would have had it no other way.
He give me hope, also! Besides Sara there is hope for some more fresh young faces who believe as she does.

The guys(and gal, Ms. Diller) sitting on that dais loved this country and everything it afforded them. The cretins that inhabit Hollyweird today have no love for their country.

I miss the days of my youth when political discourse could be scathing and ugly yet still be very funny. And where a man like Reagan could laugh in the presence of his enemies.
And if my memory serves me correctly, Reagan is still laughing from his grave. :)
