I tried getting into those, but I can’t stand depictions of violence of graphic refernces to it, and besides TV has always primarily been a respite from the contemporary world for me, which is why I always garvitated to TCM (love the old silents, the pre-codes, anything up to app the end of the studio era, generally speaking). I don’t much like my own times, and relax by escaping from it, through video or books.

"As soon as I take office, I will call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, my national security apparatus, and we will start executing a plan that draws down our troops,'' he said.

No, Hussein. It's MY national security apparatus. It's just on loan to you. Only God knows why.

Unless we're talking about your private army. Then I'd stand corrected.

I’m telling you it doesn’t matter. Military will have no problem serving obama then they had when Clinton became president.

Obama vows to shut Guantanamo in 60 Minutes interview...just one more example of the kind of superstition that passes for reason in the world of the leftwing - close Guantanomo and you'll still have the problem of what to do with those imprisoned there and how to deal with their legal status - but at least you'll silence those who've yapped for years about how bad the place is supposed to be, but never think beyond.......

Many officers and senior enlisted will hang in there no matter how distasteful the President and Congress may be to them. I served during the Clinton years and retired in 1999. It was beyond distasteful to me to have that man as the CIC during my last years of service..but I wanted to max out my time in service and others did too.
The certificate of appreciation for my years of service signed by Clinton means nothing..his signature in worthless to me because he is a man without honor. Same will no doubt be felt by those who retire with 0bama as president..
It is a shame that the historic barrier that was broken was broken by a man of no shame just as Clinton was a man of no shame.

Please use the Democrat’s preferred term...it is the “so-called War on Terror.”

McLoser lost 48-52.

Yes, McLoser lost. We know that for certain. The outcome (a republican loss of the White House) couldn't have ended any worse regardless of whom the republicans ran (a loss is a loss, not matter the size.)

McNut [sic] would've lost 28-72.

This we don't know for certain. It's just ASSuming.

The irony is that the conditions at Gitmo are undoubtedly the mildest of any prison on the island, but nobody ever says a word about Castro's prisons. Of course his political prisoners are not people the Left has any concern for.

“P.S. Time to tuck away the summer wardrobe, Michelle maBelle. “

LOL! I only watched one segment of the interview. First impression—what a softball interview! Second impression-Michelle wears the pants in the family. No wonder they didn’t sit down together for these kinds of interviews during the campaign!

It will be interesting to see the stats on re enlitment rates and on basic first termers..
If we don’t keep our Armed Forces strong and 0bama puts in place his civilian force that he wants as strong as our military then where will we be?

I agree. A friend of mine was in the Army during the Clinton years. Although he detested Clinton, he refused to leave, because he didn't want Clinton's signature on his discharge papers.

My guess is the military will follow 0bama's orders, as long as they are lawful, but there won't be the sense of camaraderie like there was with Bush.

Regarding 0bama's closing of Gitmo. It just sickens me that, in the name of morality, he's about to unleash a great evil on this country.

John McCain: “I’m for closing Guantanamo Bay because it has become a symbol. It may be one of the nicest places in the world to live in, but it has become a symbol, and we need to close Guantanamo Bay.” (ForaTV, Aug. 14, 2008)
