It's a good thing Trey Parker and Matt Stone like controversy because it sounds like they're in for quite a lot of it with their newest project - a Broadway musical based on the lives and loves of Mormons!

Well, it’s not the first time for musicals or Mormons... I think they love both equally!
Bummer that it’s on broadway though, how am I supposed to see it!
dum de dum dum dum...
Martin Haris dum dum dum dum dum, Lucy Harris smart smart smart smart smart.
LOL!!!
That episode where they make fun of Mormons was hillarious! Make fun of everyone equally I always say.
I am surprised they didn’t make a musical based on Scientology.
That "In the Closet" episode from Season 9 is one of my favorites.
What I like about South Park is they are happy to skewer anyone, no topic is off limits, no side is safe.
They did an equally funny episode on Scientology which ended up peaving off the hollywierd crowd.
This is freakin awesome. Not only funny, but the music they score is on a par with, or beyond, anything you can find on Broadway today.
OMG they are so out of control LOL!
Nothing like attacking Mitt Romney before 2011 even gets here!!!
Get ready! This is just the beginning of mormon parody from the creative folks in the arts!
Yes, it was hillarious,
but it also showed Mormons as having very strong family values, good hearts, and good lives.
It wasn’t a character assassination, just a “this is a stupid thing to base a religion on” satire, just like their scientology episode.
They tried. The network’s parent company censored them.
Well, you should never dare take on the Manatees.
They tried to make fun of Islamists as part of the “Family Guy” parodies, but Comedy Central censored them. So it’s not for lack of effort from Stone and Parker.
Who haven’t they made fun of?
Mitt’s not running.
Or he is running.
Check back tomorrow.
They are going to have to add a storyline that shows the modern Mormon church conspiring to elect a Mormon President through a ‘hate the gays” campaign that unites them with idiotic Christians who also think it is okay to “hate the sinner” instead of ‘love the sinner” as true Christians are to “turn the other cheek” as they “bless those who wickedly curse you”
Another subplot needs to be the fundamentalist, i.e. those who actually do what the Book of Mormon teaches, and how they wife swap for underage girls.
All because a full length Broadway musical needs more plot than their half hour tv show spoof.
“Yea, well it is easy to make fun of Mormons, but they would never dare make fun of _________ (fill in the blank)... “
They did come up with an episode doing that. Comedy central censored it.
You betcha!!
What's funny is I just put _______, and everyone read into it Mohammad.. (I was actually making fun of the typical FR driveby poster on South Park threads..)
thanks
They are sooo sued!
For WHAT?
The "Trapped In the Closet" episode in part parodies R. Kelly's "hip-hopera" of the same name.
They are not..
Contrary to what you have heard they are cowards when it comes to dealing with Islam.
No they are not. While there was the controversy over removing Mohamed from one episode, he was appearing in the opening credits of that same episode and all the other episodes that season. He also had a starring role in the Super Best Friends episode.
Oh, I don't know... They did quite a good job with the South Park Movie, "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut."
Mark
I stand, er sit corrected.
