Senator Says Secret-Ballot in Private Meeting to Determine Whether Democrats Punish LiebermanSenate Democrats will vote by secret ballot on Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman s fate this week, according to North Dakota Sen. Byron L. Dorgan .
The caucus is due to meet Tuesday to decide whether Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent from Connecticut, should be punished for his aggressive support of Sen. John McCain , R-Ariz., for president.
Secret ballot, eh? Well, reminding Democrats of this episode should prove amusing when they try and pass card check legislation.
Lieberman is an independent, but votes with the Senate dem caucus, except on matters of war. He retained his seniority. He's chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, and some others, maybe Agriculture, IIRC. Check the link at the beginning of the story. They might strip him of those positions.
Why doesn’t Liberman beat them to it and take the fun out of it for them.
I think we should form an anti-union union. We could contract out to defend non-union members.
Of course, we’d have to whine at ourselves, our union dues and the lazy ass union officers we’ll elect who collect a paycheck and don’t do anything, but we will have representation!!
Of course, this type of abuse can go the other way too. Politically connected companies can squeeze out the unions as long as they got pull. Either way, workers lose.
