The Associated Press is reporting that Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales have been indicted on charges related to the alleged abuse of prisoners in Willacy Countys federal detention centers. The indictment criticizes Cheneys investment in the Vanguard Group, which holds interests in the private prison companies running the federal detention centers. It accuses Cheney of a conflict of interest and at least misdemeanor assaults on detainees by working through the prison companies.

What the heck is this?
Glad this is out now, so a pardon can be issued.
Its a rogue district attorney making a name for himself. Cheney can’t be tried on the state level to begin with.
yup
You just knew the left couldn’t resist. They are probably working hard on the Bush indictment now.
They needed to relax by going to the prison and having prisoners tied to chairs, then beat them with sap gloves for entertainment.
Or something.
McAllen. Surprised it wasn’t Travis County.
This prosecutor has lost his/her mind.
What is REALLY brilliant is that if indeed Cheney does own Vanguard stock, then he does so through a blind trust which was created when he became VP just so he couldn’t be accused of such nonsense.
There is just no meat in that part of the indictment. Don’t know if Gonzales is at real risk, but they through Cheney in there just to get press.
I assume you could say the same thing about Barclays Global Investors. I think the federal government farms out Thrift Savings Plan, sort of a voluntary 401k for federal workers, to them. So by this dude's logic, he should indict all federal workers who have an investment in the S+P index fund?
That would probably be most of them.
