WTH are you smoking? These are not successful companies. In fact, I’m not even certain they want to remain non-government entities at this point.

They are coming to the taxpayer for a handout. If they come to ME for a handout, there better be strings attached.

My company has had private investors in the past. There’s always strings attached. You’d be naive to assume otherwise.

If they want to remain private companies and go bankrupt like most run the way they do — fine. Let them keep their jets. But if you come to the government as a beggar, you better not be pulling up in a Lear Jet.

You actually want these people to suffer through airports for what reason?

Because they wish to steal money from me. They are no better than any other welfare queen who dines on porterhouse steaks, watches a 60" flat screen TV or gets free rent while I bust my ass paying for all of that AND paying for my own family to survive. These people are no better than common crooks.

Private jets are a must for people that attain a certain level for many reasons.

Perhaps if these individuals attained the importance necessary to justify a private jet I would agree, and have no problem with their procuring one on their nickel. However, these 3 failures can't sell anything and are getting paid way too much to do nothing as it is. They should all quit and hang their heads in shame. Heck, I will personally offer to run the Big 3 into the ground for a paltry $1 million a year.

They constantly receive death threats.

If they do not like the security concerns that come with the job then they can quit.

These people work in excess of 16 hours a day. Their time is extremely valuable.

They clearly are not very good at what they do. And since they aspire to be welfare queens, their time is worthless. The time I am taking sitting on the pot and typing this message at this very moment is worth more than a single minute of these 3 failures' time.

Sell the 8 Jets GM owns. Fly private charter. Sounds good to me!

You see the big problem is that they are coming to the government for a handout. But they refuse to take any measures to cut their overhead.

If Wagoner started working for GM stock and cut his salary to a $1/year like Steve Jobs did when he turned around a dying Apple I’d start believing he wants to turn this company around.

They can live a life of excess as their policies run their company into the ground — that’s their business, not mine.

If you come to the government for a big fat check however, I’d expect them to show some signs of getting serious in the cost savings department. A $15 million compensation for running a company into the ground is egregious. If the shareholders are cool with that, so am I.

But if they want a government handout, prepare to kiss that concept of ‘do what you want’ goodbye.

The people complaining have no idea of how efficient flying private is.

Symphony of Destruction: Megadeth

Per your first comment, it’s not that I want to drag them down. Shoot I want the government to but out and let people live their life. What is discpicable is their arrogance, demanding our money while living high off the hog. The unions broke them, let them go bankrupt. Let them pull their heads out, quit excessive spending. Don’t make me and you pay for their idiocy.

This has nothing to do with flying in their corporate jets. I feel the same way about the UAW.

It is about how they've run their businesses into the gound and now want the taxpayers to bail them out. Until they are able to be fully competitve why should one cent of my taxes be used to pay for their folly? No bailout, no way. Chapter 11 is the only way to go.

They could have at least all three gone on one jet. It is a bit of overkill for all three to have their own jet..
