BUSH’S LEGACY: EUROPEAN SOCIALISM
dickmorris.com ^ | 11/19/08 | Dick Morris

The results of the G-20 economic summit amount to nothing less than the seamless integration of the United States into the European economy. In one month of legislation and one diplomatic meeting, the United States has unilaterally abdicated all the gains for the concept of free markets won by the Reagan administration and surrendered, in toto, to the Western European model of socialism, stagnation and excessive government regulation. Sovereignty is out the window. Without a vote, we are suddenly members of the European Union. Given the dismal record of those nations at creating jobs and sustaining growth, merger with the Europeans is like a partnership with death.

At the G-20 meeting, Bush agreed to subject the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and our other regulatory agencies to the supervision of a global entity that would critique its regulatory standards and demand changes if it felt they were necessary. Bush agreed to create a College of Supervisors.

According to The Washington Post, it would “examine the books of major financial institutions that operate across national borders so regulators could begin to have a more complete picture of banks’ operations...

I am beyond speechless. This is the result of the recent G-20 economic summit!! Thanks for the legacy, George. You just signed away America's soul. This explains why Bush has been doing things that I could not understand!! Things that are not good for our country, or for American business. WELCOME TO THE NEW WORLD ORDER!!!

How can Bush agree to anything of this nature? Isnt it the responsibility of the Senate to bind us to foreign treaties?

Subject to the advice and consent role of the U.S. Senate, the President negotiates treaties with foreign nations, but treaties enter into force only if ratified by two-thirds of the Senate.[5]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_policy_of_the_United_States

Article 2, section 2:

"He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur"

If this is true, I would like Dubya to stay in the White House for another year.

That would give us time to impeach his incompetent a**!

This makes me ill. Bush is a traitor to the Constitution.

I'm reading other articles on the summit and I'm not sure if Dick Morris has fairly characterized what happened. It might just be that the articles I've read are leaving the part out about Bush letting US regulatory agencies be under the thumb of global entities, but I'm not finding any that assert what Morris does. It does, at a minimum, sound like Bush is probably allowing certain things be brought to debate that never have been before - like what executives can get paid.

I'll be curious to see if Dick Morris is exaggerating.

So how is RP or anybody going to get on the national stage with the elites controlling each election. Sorry, this country is gone for & to the elites & we are their fodder. Why? Because we sat on our arses & allowed it. End of story.

Clearly treason, if as described by Morris. And not only on the part of Bush, but all others involved, including Congress if they blessed it pre-G20.

I wonder how many of our citizens are as sick and distrustful of the federal government as I am. Hands?

I agree with you!! It all looks so depressing. I’m starting to see the big picture here. We are no longer a Republic of “free people.” We have allowed our government to RULE US. We haven’t made them accountable and now we either need to start a REVOLUTION and revolt or continue to take this crapp and enjoy all the benefits of being powerless...

It’s time for America to get back to her roots of individualism, freedom and government for and by the people.
