A lot of victories went to the British because of Scottish Warriors, seconded from the Highlands, from the Firth of Forth to the shores of Loch Buie, and thence all over the world.Many were Camerons, Donalds, Campbells,Buchanans and MacIntoshes.
The story I heard was the British cavalry came to Scotland and the Scottish dragged them off their horses. The Scottish had very few war horses and successfully fought the British who did

That was true enough, and it was the cannons of Cumberland that did them in. If the Highlanders had cannons, history would have went very differently in 1745.
