On Wednesday, the top brass at Detroit's Big Three automakers got run over in Congress and the press for flying to Washington aboard luxurious private jets to beg for a $25 billion industry bailout.
Two days later, on Friday, General Motors Corp. announced that it is terminating the leases on two of its five private jets in an effort "to cut costs."
Only three jets to go. If this keeps up, can it be long before they'll be traveling in coach?

Will Management take a pay cut to the average UAW worker?
Will the UAW gamble their pension fund on GM?
They will rent them now on a monents notice.
Weather report from Hell: Icicles.
Oh they lease them...guess that means they wont be putting them up for sale on ebay, as the wonderful governor from Alaska did.
:)
I'm waiting to see every single RAT in Congress fly coach *every* time they fly.Same goes for the pinkie ringed thugs in charge of the UAW.When that happens I'll start worrying about how GM transports its employees from point A to point B.And not before.
The company is melting down and all PravdABDNC cares about is how they travel. Those jets are there to travel and get work done in a minimal amt of time. Should they take a Greyhound and how does the press fly?
Pray for W, America and Our Troops
Hardly changes the fact that much more is needed
High time for them to start reading the 11th. Chapter, and if need by the 7th. Chapter
I believe it’s trickery on the rat side. They pose as being a concerend protector of taxpayers money, since when? Is this the same congress before the election who would not drill anywhere for energy independence and allowed us to pay 4 dollars a gallon gas! The big three are not giving up something the rats asked behind closed doors so they sent them home to think about it. They will come back the big three will agree to remove the ash trays in all future models as a major cost cutting agreement and the rats will say YES heres the money!
The "average" UAW worker makes about $73/hr. IIRC. Still a pay cut for management, but not too shabby for most people.
Guess they don't know how to use computer conferencing. But then doing it in the islands is just another business expense.
Will Al Gore stop flying private and start flying commercial?
nuff said.

How about Nancy "freaking" Pelosi and her Boeing 757. The plane Denny Haster used had a block to block flying distance of 4,500 miles, oer the Citation website. That's about WDC to about half way to Hawaii. I can't believe she got her way with that one, to carry all her family and friends back and forth from San Francisco and Washington. She is such a fraud.
Nancy can take a very long walk on a very short pier, anytime, and the sooner the better!
Yep. There is a company called NetJets. Expect them to begin flying GM execs.
I don’t think she got her way on that actually
She and her staff tried to get it, but the military said NO, not necessary, Hastert’s plane is good enough, and she’s been using Hastert’s plane every since
Two out of three luxury jets gone...ooooohhh gee I’m soooo impressed. NOT.
I have heard that, but why does the MSm say the “average auto maker employee” makes 14 an hour, which is poor for physical work.
They must have a lot of broom pushers.
FOURTEEN DOLLARS AN HOUR?!! Hahahaha! Maybe during the Eisenhower administration!! LOL
That’s the first I heard of that and that’s great news. Are you sure? Just wondering.
From all indications, yes.
Here’s an ABC news story about it
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Story?id=2858225&page=1
So the military’s been forcing her to use Hastert’s old C-20
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/c-20.htm
Range: C-20A/B, 4,250 miles (3,698 nautical miles)
Per my map program, the driving distance between Reagan National and SFO is 2,827 miles.
I think Pelosi's problem is it is not Air Force 1 or even Air Force 3, and can only carry up to 12 passengers.
