The Ugly Backlash Over Prop. 8 (The Liberal Media Will Never Get It Alert)
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 11/21/2008 | John Diaz

Posted on 11/22/2008 12:34:35 AM PST by goldstategop

A supporter of Proposition 8, fed up with what he believed was the gay community's and "liberal media's" refusal to accept the voters' verdict, fired off a letter to the editor.

"Please show respect for democracy," he wrote, in a letter we published.

What he encountered instead was an utter lack of respect for free speech.

Within hours, the intimidation game was on. Because his real name and city were listed - a condition for publication of letters to The Chronicle - opponents of Prop. 8 used Internet search engines to find the letter writer's small business, his Web site (which included the names of his children and dog), his phone number and his clients. And they posted that information in the "Comments" section of SFGate.com - urging, in ugly language, retribution against the author's business and its identified clients.

"They're intimidating people that don't have the same beliefs as they do ... so they'll be silenced," he told me last week. "It doesn't bode well for the free-speech process. People are going to have to be pretty damn courageous to speak up about anything. Why would anyone want to go through this?"

Respect for democracy hasn’t existed for forty years minimum. And the sad truth is that democracy is dying a slow and lingering death in America. We are no longer a democracy or a republic...we are a massive collection of special interest groups...with little respect...little courage....little morals...and our agendas fly like a kite in the wind (in any direction).

The “backlash” is coming soon, but not from the direction the media and homosexuals think it is. Many people are “up to here” with this nonsense, and any little think might spark it.

Another example of how the homosexual agenda (and all leftist pet projects) have as their ultimate goal complete and total tyranny and elimination of all freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. No free speech, no right to decide how to raise or educate one's children, no freedom of association, no freedom to practice religion - for starters.

They mean business, they are saturated with hate, aggression, anger, envy and they mean us harm. Anyone still pooh-poohing the "gay" agenda better wise up. They aren't just a bunch of sissies having a fit. And compared to their tiny number, they have a tremendous clout. One might ask - why?? Because leftists love depravity and immorality, for one. And also because the "gay" agenda is a perfect vehicle for tyranny.

Why doesn’t anyone ever turn this nonsense back on them and do the same thing to them? It’s all very well to not stoop to their level, they merely laugh at us for letting them get away with it. They don’t have respect for decency or honor, and it’s killing our side, in many aspects. We’re not opposing people who will play by long-respected rules, they don’t care how dishonorable and vicious they are, even when it gains them nothing, as long as it hurts “the enemy”.

Because they are overrepresented in the mass media homosexuals create an illusion of a much larger gay population than actually exists. Obama had no trouble embracing traditional marriage in his campaign because he knows gays account for about 1.5 percent of the U.S. electorate.

Indeed. If proponents of homosexual lifestyle CHOICES keep aggravating the black community by comparing their ‘civil rights struggle’ to what MLK and others went through, not to mention people like Roseanne Barr saying the black community ‘misused’ their votes along with derogatory terms—well, there might be some rioting going on, and the gay community may bite off more than they can chew!

I wonder how many of the “under 30” group will change their opinion after watching their “traditional” parents, family members, and friends, savaged by these out-of-control anti-8 groups? They may be getting a real attitude adjustment about these wonderful, gay, we-only-want-our-rights terrorists!

Does California not have any laws against “uttering a threat” or “indimidation”? Here both are serious crimes with serious consequences.

IIRC “uttering a threat” can attract a sentence of up to 7 years gaol in NZ. I would be surprised if its equivalent charge is much different in California.

Most people are heterosexual, and although they may want to indoctrinate children into their alternative lifestyle, human nature is such that people will want to have a normal family. The media is a giant magnifying glass that has made them appear larger than life, but in the end they will always be a minority of the population. Although they may have the support of the media the majority of the people will always be heterosexual. That’s why for as liberal as California may be, the majority of the population keep voting against gay marriage.

You are pretty much correct, but there is a direction to the wind. It is prevailing toward collectivism and is coming out of the mouth of the media.

Just watch the 1933 and the 2005 versions of “King Kong”.

In the 1933 version, the movie producer is a capitalist that risks his own money with a crew that volunteers to rescue an innocent woman captured by natives. When confronting the natives, they fire over their heads to minimize bloodshed.

In the 2005 version, the movie producer is a “capitalist” criminal scoundrel who absconds with other peoples money, and who lies to the woman to get her cooperation. Then he bullies and forces the crew onto the island for the possibility of his profit, willing for them to take any risk for him. When natives are confronted, he orders them to kill the natives.

I completely agree with the letter-writer’s views.

So I am sorry to have to say this. In today’s America, it is a mistake to publish personal information about yourself, including your children’s names, on a website.

On the one hand, when the special interest groups band together and manage to gain a popular vote edge in presidential elections, they decry the electoral system and rant "democracy!, majority rule should win!.

On the other hand when they are over ruled in a fair 'democratic' election and trumped by a 'simple majority' they cry foul!

Hypocrits, one and all. Each with the morals and social value of a rutting dog.

The anti-prop 8 homofacists are also anti-democracy, and continue to work for those laws that will only be used for selectively enforced.
These are the real enemies of freedom, and a majority rule.

THIS IS AN UNDECLARED BUT REAL WAR.

If conservatives, consistant judeo-christians,and all the sensible people whatever can be their cultures and opinions, don’t realize that they will be completly OWNED for a long time.

Winning a war means to know and name the ennemies,to develop a strategy FOR VICTORY,and to build a consistant and a strict organization...

I'm old enough to remember homosexuality as being completely unacceptable in open society. The "gay" were considered the victims of a mental disorder at best. At the worse, the gay were branded as the depraved criminals, to be driven from normal society and all it's institutions.

I can remember the early "gay rights" movements of the 60s and 70s. Mostly on university campus. Gays pleading with society to "just leave us alone, let us live our lives in peace".

I can remember the opponents of "gay rights" saying long and loud, "you let these folks alone and the day will come when they will want to get married and have kids".

I can remember the gay activists answering these opponents with " Don't be silly. No one seriously expects gay marriage. We just want to be left alone. How could anyone seriously believe we would try to force our values on everyone else?"

I remember all these things. But mostly I remember that the so called "homophobes" were exactly right.

Nobody really knows how many people are homosexual, because one must be self-identified.

But, in Massachusetts, which has had same-sex marriage for almost five years, about 4% of all married couples are same-sex, and 96% are traditional opposite sex couples.

Just an interesting stat that shows that far less than the 10% of the population number claimed by gay activists are homosexual.

There was a thread out here a few months ago, in which lesbians complained that some straight college age girls pretended to be lesbian because they thought it was cool to be gay. They complained because these girls weren’t really gay and pretending about it would hurt their cause.

I think that laws against intimidation or harassment are only used for the politically correct side of an issue. Not that I agree with this, but in reality, I think he will have a hard time taking legal action about the harrassment he has received.

Lavender mafia putting on brown shirts.

The high command of the Nazi Sturmabteilungen (SA), or Brownshirts, were notorious for their aggressive homosexuality and bisexuality. The group was almost exclusively homo- or bisexual. The leader, Ernst Roehm, was a sadist as well. They used the Hitlerjugend, the Hitler Youth, as a seraglio -- a harem of boys -- and did as they pleased with impunity, until the Army balked at allowing the Nazis to take command, citing Roehm's known character and his interest in getting control of the Army.

Hitler solved his political problem with the Army by sending in the Blackshirts, the SS, to exterminate the SA high command in the "Night of the Long Knives".

As a matter of fact, I was just thinking of it and trying to remember who made the film.

All I could remember was that he was a Communist, and so I didn't know how much of what he put up there to credit. I saw the film back in about 1968, and I was unaware at that time of the rampant homosexuality in Nazism (which hypocritically sent thousands of homosexuals to the camps at the same time it was publishing very gay-looking beefcake covers on Signal, the Nazi magazine, of ripped-and-cut Aryan soldiers in casual undress ).

If homosexuals commit such crimes, they are given a pass. They seem to have a mysterious aura and the law won’t touch them for crimes such as public lewdness, committing sodomy in partks, bushes, public bathrooms, and alleyways, threatening or stalking, filling the streets with rabid protesters and clogging traffic with no permits, attacking little old ladies and stealing their crosses and destroying them, etc.

Visconti was a very unorthodox Marxist. From an aristocratic, Catholic family, he glorified the pre-capitalist (per his perspective) family structure in his films, and saw homosexuality, family break-up to be products of "bourgeois capitalism." I guess the orgies and sodomy of the Euro aristocracy never entered into his thesis.

One could NEVER make a film like the Damned today. Even if you could get financing, the Gay Mafia would lynch whoever made it.

Guess Visconti never got a chance to study male life-expectancy stats from Soviet Russia, or review how easy the Soviet state made divorce and abortion. He may also have been unaware that, like the Nazis, Communists also coddled -- have always done so -- sexual perversion as part of their recruiting campaign (Burgess & Mclain and various other British spy-twinks; also, see The Kiss of the Spider-Woman, that I saw an older Texas couple walk out of, during the fumbling-in-the-dark scene; the whole film was a Communist recruiting-poster for homosexuals).

As for The Damned, sexual perversion is, as you say, featured on the other hand as an object or tool of polemic -- as in the opening scene, when the decadent young scion of the Von Essenbeck (= Krupp) family performs his little song at the family's old-school Sunday-afternoon entertainment:

Ich moechte einen Mann,
Einen richtigen Mann .....

Pretty memorable introduction of a character!
