“A private central bank issuing the public currency is a greater menace to the liberties of the people than a standing army...We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.”

Well in my opinion this whole financial mess was caused by Fannie & Freddie who were encouraged and supported by democrats. I believe the Fed, the Treasury, and President Bush are doing their best to fix the crisis. I know everyone is saying let the companies fall but in my opinion that will lead us to the great depression. In my opinion I think that these companies should be saved because it was fraud that was brought about by the Fannie and Freddie system that caused the crisis and it will only cause more damage if we allowed them to fail.

The only true justice we could see from this crime has nothing to do with money.. it’s putting those responsible namely democrat politicans behind bars.

“...it’s putting those responsible namely democrat politicans behind bars.”

Instead they get elected as president and get appointed to top positions.

“The irony of this all is that this democratic administration and democratic controlled congress may end up spending more money on big money bags then they had plans on handing out to the lame, the blind, and the weak, and the loafers.”

I’m sure they’ll have plenty for the loafers but they couldn’t care less about the lame, the blind and the weak.

Is it actual inflation, or a reversion to the mean from the inflation wrought by easy credit combined with an unusually large population cohort who had far fewer children then the norm (and hence a disproportionate share of disposable income for luxuries, combined with narcissism)?

What you do is wait for the gold to plummet in response to the deflation, *then* buy it. (Or buy gold mining stocks, or gold mining futures.)

Of course, the key is *timing*. Being right at the wrong time is often worse than being wrong.

Young people will despise the Baby Boomer's for a looooong time.

Young people will be a fertile field for recruiting to conservatism.

If not, they will enforce euthanasia to cut societal costs.

And the liberal boomers will have reaped what they have sown.

At this point, what difference does it make if it's 700 billion or 50 trillion...They're playing with Monopoly Money so the numbers are meaningless to them...

With the inflation this is going to bring, we'll be huntin' for boats to get to China where the wages will be better...
