JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Zimbabwe has barred former U.N. secretary general Kofi Annan, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and other prominent figures from visiting the country to assess the humanitarian crisis, the group said on Saturday.
They said they were denied travel visas to Zimbabwe despite the intervention of former South African president Thabo Mbeki, who is mediating the political conflict between President Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF party and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).

Maybe US should follow?
I had the same thought.
Possibly the only good decision Robert Mugabe has ever made. The situation in Zimbabwe is bad enough without Carter and Annan making it worse.
**Maybe US should follow?**
and send Kofe and Jimmuh to Bangladesh with McLAME .. Liberalman and Grahamnesty?
Already posted.
Me too, Zimbabwe is smarter than the USA?
Neither of these two buttheads are welcome in my home either.
Mugabe does not want competition.
Idiot Carter, still running around trying to overcome the legacy of his failed administration. Typical ‘rat, doesn’t know when he’s irrelevant, and no respect for the actual President in office. It’s not his job to run around trying to interfere with foreign policy. Seems to be a ‘rat trait-just see Jesse Jackson, Gore, et al.
For the first time I find myself in agreement with the government of Zimbabwe.

Not to worry, "The One" will fix things for them soon.
[/dripping sarcasm]
I wonder of they are flying on commercial air or if they have a private jet?
Someone should snap a picture of Annan and Carter together in the evening, and give it a still life title, “Two Narcissists at Dinner.”
But Mugabe owes his enire power to those two. Why doesn’t the press now ask Carter if he made a huge mistake to support and prop up this tyranical dictator (and how many other “mistakes” of similar kind he has made).
I’d rather Carter went then confiscate his passport once he gets there.
Maybe Zimbabwe is turning around?
I’m just happy for the Secret Service folks who would have had to follow Jimmah into that hellhole. It would be fine with me if he and Kofi had to spend the rest of their lives as cellmates there, but they would have shot every SS man whose duty it was to take that bullet for that worthless POS.
I remember the press standing dumbstruck at the thousands of adoring mourners at Reagan's funeral. It's going to be even funnier too see the press standing dumbstruck because the are the only mourners at Carter's funeral.
Carter, Annan, others refused entry to Zimbabwe
