“As a matter of law, a deathbed statement is usually regarded as sufficiently reliable that it is permitted to be introduced into evidence as an exception to the hearsay rule. In that sense, Hunt’s statement is evidence.”

I don’t mean to imply that eye witness tesimony is not worthy of being called evidence. However, if it isn’t consistent with existing evidence and doesn’t lead to any new evidence, such testimony is usually pretty worthless. Also, I can’t speak for the courts, but personally I have a lot less respect for confessions on the deathbed, since by that point the person has little to fear from consequences. Oh, and the confession was years after the fact, which also makes it more likely to be false.

The JFK Asasination: Your Theories Please

I'll take Joe DiMaggio for $500 Alex. He was a recluse and a loner who was obsessed with his ex-wife Marilyn Monroe and blamed the Kennedy brothers for her death. And he had good hand-eye coordination.

Either him or Sinatra...or Onassis or... perhaps Prince Phillip (no that was Diana).

“JFK blatantly stole the election from Nixon, and Nixon refused to do anything about it. That is a bad Republican habit. McCain refused to go on the attack against Obama, likewise. Medical problems were off limits, at least as far as the Republicans were concerned. Remember as well the press refusing to show FDR in a wheelchair...Perhaps it boils down to the old saying. ‘First you get disciples, and then they crucify you.’”

It seems strange to me that you are resonable enough to recognize the political decorum of the time, making medical secrets off-limits, and yet are so willing to believe that JFK insiders would be willing to violate all laws of decency by murdering their leader. I know Democrats are evil, but come on. They sat idly by while FDR was basically an invalid during his entire last term, and that was in wartime.

My theory is that a disgruntled neer do well with an inflated opinion of himself decided to “make history.”

"Forty-Five years later who really cares?"

They got away with it.

They murdered our President right in front of us! Right before our very eyes!

You know THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

That President!

No big deal. Anyone can be President.

They get away with a lot. They count on folks such as yourself.

The evidence is in. Most of the posters on this very thread are already/have been drinking the Kool-Aid.

Yourself included!

"Again, after he had been in police custody for two days? That Ruby sure was on the ball."

What did Oswald say when he was on film (Black eyes and all) after his beatings by the Dallas Thugs? (I mean Police Department.)

“They got away with it.”

No, Oswald got his just desserts. History can rest easily.

It was Oswald, in the library, with a rifle.

Called “comparmentalization”....several operatives, each with a role and mission, none aware of the other. Classic CIA/KGB stuff...could have been either/or....or even BOTH

The big difference is nuclear weapons. The entire US had been terrified by the Cuban Missile Crisis. To make matters worse, for a brief time right then, the US had a huge advantage in missiles over the Soviet Union.

Had JFK launched, it would not be unreasonable to say that the US would have “won”. Mutually Assured Destruction did not exist yet as a concept. There were likely hawks who wanted to attack the Soviet Union before they could build enough of their own missiles to fight back. Certainly attack Cuba before missiles could be emplaced there.

This isn’t a case of “good” or “evil”, but what they, somebody, thought was a mentally ill person with a finger on the trigger. Somebody, whoever, who could not abide the idea of a single, insane person who could destroy the world.

After that time, and for the rest of the Cold War, an understanding was reached with the Soviet Union that no single person should have the ability to start a nuclear war. It had to be a committee, and they had to all agree, and provide a code unique to them that would have to be had to launch missiles.

Only with the fall of the Soviet Union did both sides take it down a notch, to a more relaxed nuclear posture.

Right or wrong, when the stakes are that high, even the POTUS is expendable. It’s been that way since Truman. Nothing personal.

The Adults buying the Kool Aid seem to be the ones posting the BS!

Anyone insulted by the challenge to consider common sense and their own eyes regarding the evidence likely is/are part of your camp.

Oswald was indeed a "patsy" and if you can't acknowledge that, then you have little claim to adulthood from this vantage.

My uncle was in the CIA, one of the top agents at the time, and he knew. He told me, too, the only person he ever confided to, with much detail that only a well informed person could possess. I’ve had no reason to doubt his story, as his other stories were later confirmed. (Ellsberg, Watergate, among others.)

My theory is that Lee Harvey Oswald was massively maladjusted and had a major inferiority complex. He spent his life trying to be important. He joined the military to make himself feel stronger, he tried to defect to the Soviet Union to make them pay attention to him, and then he tried to become a proponent for Cuba. When none of this brought him the fame he wanted, he decided to kill the president. And he did so successfully.

You left out one step. He unsuccessfully tried to kill someone before the president, a major, or something.

As for Communists killing 100 Million in the 20th Century, try 300 Million.

I had always heard 100 million. Got a source for that? If I've been using the wrong number in arguments, I'd love to use the right number. While 300 million is mind-boggling, it would make my arguments better.

3 posts from you, 2 blanket insults to the board and you call the Dallas Police the Dallas thugs, you’re a piece of work.

Explain this, smart guy.

Oswalds prints found on the rifle scope and on the boxes in the snipers nest, fact.

Ballistics showed the bullet that hit JFK and Connally came from Oswald’s rifle at the school book depository, fact.

Fiber evidence from the rifle came from Oswalds, shirt, fact.

Oswald was the ONLY employee missing from the TSBD after the shooting, fact.

Witnesses saw a rifle in the 6th floor of the TSBD, that’s why they did the head count on the TSBD, fact. What an amazing, unfortunate coincidence for the innocent Oswald that he was the only employee missing, his fingerprints at the scene and on the scope of the rifle, and that ballistics proved the recovered bullet came from Oswald’s rifle.

Lee Harvey Oswald is either the unluckiest person on the planet, or he was a whack job who tried to kill General Walker, then killed JFK and Officer Tippett.
