That's what I was thinking. They should have been first in line.

The Republicans will pay for this one if those guys remain 'Republican' political prisoners.

This guy basically put poison in some hamburger to kill coyotes, and an eagle ate some. He's served his probation and paid a hefty fine. No problem with that pardon.

I wonder how on earth these specific people came to the President’s attention and why he chose to pardon these particular ones. Some of the cases seem quite old and, it seems, that the time has already been paid. In those cases, is it just a pardon of the fine?

Do you really think El Presidente Jorge Boosh will grant pardons to those who shot one of his friends?

Done.

Mr. President, you have done an exceptional job of protecting us for the past 7 years. We are truly grateful for your fortitude in the face of unceasing opposition from within and without our borders.

There is one glaring injustice that remains a stain upon the fabric of our country. United States Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean have been more than sufficiently punished for the accusations of Johnny Sutton and the serial criminal illegal alien drug dealer.

They are in conditions far worse than the enemy combatants currently (justifiably) incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

If anything, you have taught America that “doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but it is always right!”

I beg you Mr. President please do the right thing without delay and send these men back to their young families where they belong.

Please perform this one final act of compassion; pardon those two honorable Patriots and end their nightmare.

I wonder how on earth these specific people came to the President’s attention and why he chose to pardon these particular ones.
I can't answer in detail but here is how one of the pardons got to his attention: Daniel Pue.

He was convicted in 1996 on federal charges of illegal storage, disposal and transportation of a hazardous waste without a permit, according to court records. The waste was pentachlorophenol and creosote sludge. He was sentenced to three years' probation with six months' home detention on each charge. The sentences were to run concurrently. He was also fined $1,000............

......He completed his six months' home confinement but never tried to pursue a pardon until his daughter, Karen Flint, decided to take action. As part of a college government class project, she wrote a letter to the president asking for a pardon for her father.

"We were challenged by our instructor to make a difference and write somebody in office," said Flint, 37. "Some students were writing about potholes. I had more important things on my mind. My dad was a top priority."

Flint mailed the letter in February 2003 and got a reply in May 2003 that included paperwork to apply for a pardon. Daniel Pue and his wife completed the application and mailed it. They received a reply about a month later seeking more information, he said.

The Pues didn't hear anything for another two years. Then one day, an FBI agent called about doing a pardon investigation, Daniel Pue said.

The agent interviewed Daniel Pue, his wife, family, neighbors and co-workers, and said the information would be sent to the pardon attorney for review. That was the last Daniel Pue heard about the pardon, until Monday.
end snips.......

Bush pardons Conroe 'average guy'
