No, Uncommon Valor is my favorite.

Death comes to us all.

Prayers are with him and his family!

This is what killed my maternal grandmother. It is a nasty way to go.

Way too soon. BTW, Dirty Dancing was terrible. Ghost was O.K., but Dude, RED DAWN ROCKED!!!!

Prayers.

The only thing I believe out of the National Enq. are usually the UFO reports ;)

John Edwards wishes that was true ;-)

Does anyone know if he had surgery?

In Aug, my husband had a tumor in his pancreas. All the docs thought it was cancer. They were able to operate because it was in the head of the pancreas. It’s called Whipple surgery.

Turns out the tumor was benign. Only 2% of them are benign.
We had thousands of people praying for us, and are prayers were heard.

So sad about Patrick. I thought he was going to beat it.

Good Night.

I do not want to go via a long and lingering death. I don’t want to have to be taken care of like an invalid or a baby for months on end. If I can’t have a painless death, I hope it is at least timely.

Husband died of liver cancer in July 2006 so I know what the family is going through. Thoughts and prayers for the family and friends during this difficult time. He was a good actor.

Yeah... an amazing movie. Death does come to us all, but in his case it would have been nice if Death could have delayed His visit.

Prayers up from DownUnder.

Amen! When Charlie Sheen and Patrick S were in tears while his father was on the other side of the fence..damn, I was almost in tears too. Thanks for the memories, Pat. You’ll always be OUR WOLVERINE.

As I understand it, pancreatic cancer is incurable mainly because it’s so “sneaky,” for lack of a better word. By the time symptoms become evident, it’s advanced too far for survival. Most cancers can be cured if diagnosed and treated early, but not pancreatic cancer.

Mrs. Marauder is in the hospital right now, riding the blood sugar rollercoaster. She’s “pre-diabetic” and those symptoms can mean pancreatic cancer. In these cases it’s the first thing the Dr. wants to eliminate, so he ordered a cat-scan, and of course I went to my knees in thanks because the results were normal. Now it’s just a matter of balancing the meds to keep her blood sugar regulated.

WHen I saw ads for his new show on the tv, I thought he’d beaten his cancer and was delighted. Seems one of the good guys out of the Hollywood scene. Same wife forever! Well rounded sort of guy. God bless him and his familiy as he struggles through this battle.

Poor guy.

He seems like one of the few respectable and normal people in Showbiz.

His life, and now his handling of his own physical demise is what will create his legacy to friends, family and all that ever knew of him.

My godmother who is my mother’s friend since high school (They are both in their early 80s) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer over two years ago. They offered her an experimental drug. It was a protein kinase inhibitor. Kinases add phosphate groups to proteins. Some oncogenes are turned on when they have the phosphates added. The doctor said it would not cure her, but could prolong her life some. It seems like it has, as she is still alive >2 years later. She still felt well enough to go to lunch with my mother and other friends monthly.

My mother told me today that my godmother is going downhill. She said that instead of saying she was OK when asked how she was, she said she was really tired of fighting (My father said the same thing about a month before he died from lung cancer). I hope she lasts until Christmas, as I will be going back to visit then and her 82nd birthday is the 18th.

Red Dawn rocked but Wong Foo/Julie Newmar (or whatever the heck it was called) was a sin against nature

Not a time to debate it, so Patrick Swayze- God Bless you
