Barack Obama facing his first defeat as Sarah Palin hits Georgia campaign trail
telegraph.co.uk ^ | Nov. 28, 2008 | Gerald Warner

"Please join me... on Tuesday, December 2, and head to the polls just one more time this year." That plea came from Barack Obama in a recent radio advertisement supporting Jim Martin, the Democrat candidate in next Tuesday's run-off election in Georgia for the state's Senate seat. If you thought the US elections were over - think again. Barack Obama knows they are not. He also knows he is facing probable defeat next Tuesday, in what will be the first major setback for his fledgling administration.

The Republicans, on 40, need just one more seat to mount a filibuster in the Senate against contentious Obama legislation. And there will be plenty of that, not least his Freedom of Choice Bill mandating unlimited abortion across every state of the Union. Obama's hit-the-ground-running, brook-no-opposition instincts demand a filibuster-free Senate.

Isn’t it interesting how much we’ve come to rely on the British press for news about American elections?

It’s mostly a psychological thing. Having 60 is seen as a benchmark. The Dems have more than a few RINO’s that they can rely on at any time. They’re filibuster-proof, no matter what. (As if the GOP has any Senator with enough guts do it, anyway!)

That question has not been raised in the past 24 hours as far as I know, because of the Mumbai affair. Personally, I don’t think that his case shall ever be resolved simply because Obama is being protected by the MSM, BOTH political parties, the legal courts and the fear for rioting should it be established that he is not a US citizen.

I hope Saxby wins. A RINO, and he certainly qualifies, is still better than a RAT.

Now we need a kick-ass Senate minority leader to keep the RINOS in line.

Lindsey Graham, you suck!

:)

Yep, and I especially liked the headline. You won't see a headline like that in the States.

So we’re supposed to trash our 200+ year old rule of law so a Marxist scumbucket like nObama can be President?

I DON’T THINK SO!

Sadly, that’s what I thought, too.

I think that the rioting is the big issue. Our authoritys have taken the easy road on this one. If rioting does take place, we can handle it. If our Constitution is violated on this issue, there will be no end to it.

Maybe but some issues like raising fuel standards on autos won’t go over well Senators who have auto mfgs. in their states. Don’t expect coal state Dems to put themselves out of jobs either.

Great idea!! Where’s the BC BO?!!!!

No terrible idea.

If BO's BC turns out to be valid, then every BO thread that covers other aspects of how BO sucks so bad, will have been spammed with a topic that went nowhere.

You understand?

It's a good idea to keep the where's-the-birth-certificate posts on BO-BC threads.

Shocking that having Clinton cronies in Obama’s administration makes it look as if it’s not so bad.

Voinovich has found religion and been a fairly reliable republican lately.

The newest dem senator from Alaska is quite conservative.

Pro 2nd. amendment

Pro ANWR drilling

He seems hardly likely to go along with harry and nancy.

>I DON’T THINK SO!<

Neither do I, but have you noticed the uphill battle to get to the truth? There is hardly anybody with influence in politics and the MSM who wants to get involved in the case, simply because they dare not make waves.

Both dems and reps wish this affair would just go away. You and I and millions of Americans care about the Constitution, but it has been shown, in the past weeks, that no one else does. The country is being hoodwinked and it enjoys it.

Do you notice how many influential people have jumped the republican ship to join Obama? Do you think that any of these people want to get to the truth with regard to his citizenship? Nobody wants to end up with egg on his face.

Clinton light or Clinton heavy?

I suspect Hillary is the "Clinton light".

Stop the distraction about Obama’s birth certificate. If you are not a troll, you are surely acting like one.

Its not a ‘distraction,’ its asensible strategy that he advocates. It needs to be hammered in.

Has Matthews formally announced? Seems once he does announce, he has to give up his tv/column gigs.

If he was a conservative republican, he would be hounded out of his job by the most powerful wing of the DNC, the Main Stream News affiliates.

As the MSN is now officially a wing of the democrat party (kinda like common law marriage is my reasoning for the "offical" part) it's no problem.
