The Thanksgiving Day Massacre in Mumbai

The Islamic terrorists in Mumbai targeted Westerners and wealthy Indians. They chose huge, 4000 room hotels and other large, highly symbolic targets such as cafes and the old Victoria railway station. But they also carefully chose a very tiny building, Nariman House, also a highly symbolic location. Chabad is a worldwide movement of Hasidic Jews who do not proselytize, who are not violent, who live to help others and who have shluchim, or messengers-in-service on every continent.
Have the Princes of Saudi Arabia, the mullahs of Iran, the imams of Cairo, Baghdad, and London, the various Palestinian factions condemned the carnage?
Did I miss it?
Have moderate Muslims and prominent anti-racists and anti-colonialists condemned the carnage as a racist, colonialist act?
Islamic fundamentalists have declared a major, global war against the West and against non-Wahabi Muslims.
To date, the world has refused to treat the Islamic/Islamist assault as the full-fledged religious war that it really is. No, it is not a traditional war which means that we will require non-traditional, as well as traditional means to fight it.

Odd. I thought Thanksgiving was a uniquely American holiday.

We are in denial about the enemy. A lot more people will die before we summon the will to fight back.

I doubt that citizens of India or the terrorists that perpetrated this horrendous event have a clue about the unique holiday we call Thanksgiving.

Yea nobody here knowa ita thanksgiving .

I do not think they overlooked the holiday, as Phyllis Chesler reminds us. The terrorists sent us a message, that you will no longer be safe anywhere. Islam is fighting a war against the West that has raged without pause for fourteen centuries.

There will always be lunatics with AK47’s and bombs willing to murder others for whatever cause gives them excuse to do so. What separates Islamist terrorists is that unlike some other fringe group, they have government, financial organizations, and tens maybe hundreds of millions of people who tacitly approve what they do.
Until the Muslim world begins treating these people the same way the Western world treats its Nazis, there can be no peace.

I’ve heard the theory that Thanksgiving is based on the Jewish holiday Sukkot. The puritans observed some Old Testament holidays.

We are in denial about the enemy. A lot more people will die before we summon the will to fight back. It will take - and I fully expect it to happen within the next two to three years - detonation of a nuclear weapon on US soil to get the sheeple's attention.

We are in denial about the enemy. A lot more people will die before we summon the will to fight back. Like you, I've been saying this since Pres. Bush called Islam the "Religion of Peace"(TM) but until people find their brains and decide to fight this scourge we just have to hunker down, watch each other's back and keep on keeping on.
And that's it in a nutshell, the will to fight back, we have LOST OUR WILL. Amazing.

I highly doubt it. The muslims are content with guerrila warfare. If they detonated a nuclear device in the U.S., they would be signing their death warrant. Nobody even remotely associated with islam would escape, and our government would be powerless to stop the ensuing battle.

The people haven’t lost their will, the poll-mongering politicians have. When push comes to shove, we’ll stand and fight.

Hopefully, I’m sure that the good Indian people will not tolerate these brutal attacks on their soil, and will work quickly to bring down these terrorists and their ilk.

No, they were probably cheering it as the infidel Indians, the Great Satan America and the lesser Satan's Israel and the UK were attacked.

Islam is fighting a war against the West civilisation and morality that has raged without pause for fourteen centuries.
Corrected it. Remember that when the scum invaded the Christian lands of Egypt, Syria, North Africa, Turkey, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia, much of Iraq, they were also invading and massacring Zoroastrian Iran, Hindu India, Buddhist Central Asia (Afghanistan, Uzbekistan etc.)

That's what you say -- after 9/11, we should have nuked Mecca and Medina. Instead Pakistan has nukes and it calls it's nukes: "the Islamic bomb". Pakistan is a failed country -- the terrorists may get their hands on some of those china-made nukes

It would be the worst mistake the muslims every made. The government wouldn't be able to overcome the inertia for retaliation. Anyone who would stand in the way of retribution would be perceived as weak, and would be pushed aside as we sought vengeance. They might be able to destroy on our cities, but we have the capability to destroy entire regions with the push of a button. This may not make any sense to the fanatics. I like to use the hornet analogy. The hornets build a nest and are happy living their day to day existence. Until some jackass comes along and shoves a stick into it. Yes, the jackass may have killed some of the hornets, but all he really succeeded in doing is pissing the rest of the hornets off, who will make it their life's’ goal of stinging the jackass to death.
