Morning In America - Could Barack Obama become the next Ronald Reagan? (Mega Barf)
newsweek.com ^ | November 28, 2008 | Eleanor Clift

Posted on 11/28/2008 3:58:37 PM PST by Free ThinkerNY

Enough with the Lincoln analogies; Reagan is the president that Barack Obama is most closely modeling himself after. Ronald Reagan inherited stagflation, a defeat abroad and a nation at its nadir in morale. Through the sheer force of his personality as much as his policies, four years later, it was "Morning in America," the theme of his 1984 re-election campaign when he won 49 states. Obama isn't president yet, but his determined calm and orderly transition pace appear to be soothing the financial markets, producing the first sustained gain in stocks since the mid-September meltdown.

On Jan. 20, Obama will take the oath of office, join a private luncheon in Statuary Hall, then meet with congressional leaders and, if all goes according to plan, sign into law a massive stimulus plan before he proceeds up Pennsylvania Avenue to the viewing stand outside the White House for the Inaugural Parade. Reagan initiated the tradition of the Inaugural Day meeting with the legislative barons, a gesture that signals respect and sets a tone for the 100-day dash when a president can be most productive.

Leave it to Eleanor Rodham Clift. I’m sure she was enthralled with Reagan when he was president.

Ironic that a liberal rag would compare Obama to Reagan since Obama earlier had cast Reagan as another republican president that had lead the US down the wrong path...but, to be a liberal is to ignore everything you have said before.

THE SAD AFTERMATH: The Republican National Committee has set up cleansing booths all around the country; but, it’s just not going to take away the stain from those wishy-washy conservatives who were sucked in by the siren call of the Obamassiah. His history of actions, associations and words simply went unheeded as they were mesmerized by his utopian rhetoric. No amount of detergent will take away the guilt.

I don’t distrust him because he’s black. I distrust him because he’s an extreme liberal, and that’s about as low as it gets in my book.

That has to be a joke.

You cannot get anymore polar opposite than Ronald Reagan and Racist Hussein.

Thats like night and day.
from completely different universes, living on different dimensions.
For every matter, there is an anti-matter. Whatever Reagan is, Hussein is the anti.
Totally opposite.
Their names don’t even belong in the same sentence. Not even on the same page.

This is not the first time I have the “Barry is the next Reagan” statement.

It amuses me that the MSM doesn't attach his name to a prior president with similar values. Or at least a Dem president. FDR or JFK or LBJ...or Carter.

This has to be an attempt of glory by name association...or the MSM knows something we don't. Maybe Barry is undergoing an epiphany as we speak and will emerge on January 20th as a far left conservative, shouting “Fooled You!!” at his base. (I can hope can't I?)

or, "James Earl Clinton"...

or, "Alfred E. Newman"...

but more likely, Barry Soetoro, citizen of Kenya.

The author must have a mental illness to believe that Zero and Ronald Reagan are anything alike. One believed in liberty and the other is a Marxist.

The media, having lifted Zero to the office of President, has a stake in his success. Once he has finished transforming the United States into a nation Reagan couldn't possibly recognize, they will declare him to be the greatest of all Presidents.

Obama can be anything you want. He is the ultimate Magic Mirror: "Slave, in the Magic Mirror, Come from the farthest space. Through wind and darkness I summon thee. Speak! Let me see thy face!" However, unlike the Magic Mirror in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, who always speaks the truth, this mirror speaks whatever you want, lies or not.

The only good thing about this kind of thinking is that it involves libtards like Eleanor Clift confirming in public that Ronald Reagan was the foremost POTUS in many decades.

They shouldn’t be so foolish as to make any such lofty predictions for Obama when he isn’t even in office, but it fun to see them acknowledge President Reagan as far above Clinton-Carter-Johnson-Kennedy in stature.

If by some freak accident Obama became the next Ronald Reagan Eleanor would be up in arms cursing him. She absolutely hated Ronald Reagan.

Obama is an empty suit. There's no history. No test of character. No accomplishment to accurately gauge anything by.

It is possible, though seemingly very unlikely, that with the weight of the Presidency and the reality of what is riding on it, Obama could rise to the occasion.

Time will tell...

Plan for the worse...

I'm trying to figure out who Obama will most resemble, and I hope I'm wrong:

Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved. [wiki]

Obama holds the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal society. Obama advocates the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among Obama supporters over how, and to what extent this should be achieved. [Obama's speeches, including his comments to Joe the Plumber]

Hitler's National Socialism - over 11,000,000 dead
Pol Pot - over 3,000,000 dead
Stalin's Soviet Socialism - over 22,000,000 dead
Mao's Chinese Socialism - over 29,000,000 dead
Obama's Hope and Change - numbers to be determined, but I'm not optimistic

I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the MSM wasn't attaching Barry's name to one of their own heroes.

You have made it all clear. And you are definitely correct.
