NEW DELHI -- Live Earth India, a high-profile Mumbai-based event aimed at heightening awareness of climate change, has been cancelled after a series terrorist attacks rocked the city.

"Due to circumstances far beyond our control, we are saddened to announce that Live Earth India has been cancelled," said an emailed statement from Live Earth founder Kevin Wall, the office of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, & Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of body the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The hotly-awaited concert had been scheduled for December 7 and was set to feature performances by local and western artists as well as speeches on what Live Earth calls, "the global climate crisis."

Amongst other acts, Bon Jovi was slated to perform.

"Everyone involved with Live Earth India, from our U.S.- and India-based staff, artists and crew to our India-based broadcast, production, non-profit and marketing communications partners, is stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days in our host city Mumbai." the statement said.

A Live Earth spokesman said it was too early to say if the event might be moved or rescheduled. Live Earth aims to use entertainment to encourage people to help solve environmental issues.

All of a sudden, terrorists seem to be more scary than global warming.

Makes such sense, somehow...

You beat me to it, that was my exact thought.

They are trying to scare us to death about global warming, but, some other threats seem more real and urgent, don’t they?

To paraphrase others smarter than me, if we don’t get a handle on these terrorists and terrorism, then no other issues will matter in the long run. If radical Islam destroys the world as we know it, who the heck is going to care about global warming and fuzzy polar bears on a glacier somewhere??????

Well at least something good has come out of the devastation.

An increase in global temperature will result in a decrease of terrorist activity. (I am waiting for my invitation to Stockholm to receive the Nobel Peace Prize but promise not to hold my breath until that day)

How appropriate....Man has as much to do with global warming (under any name), as Baptists did Pearl Harbor.

Murder some Jews and I'm sure that Nobel Prize is as good as yours.

Due to circumstances far beyond our control,

If they can't control the circumstances surrounding the behavior of a handful of crazy people, what makes them think they can control the behavior of everyone on the planet in their quest to cure so-called "global warming."

The Global Warming Concert has been canceled and that’s bad, but look at it this way, the lefties are now free to focus their energies on convincing the world that the Mumbai atrocity was all America’s fault.

Everything’s win-win for the lefties, as long as the media bends over backward to cover up their stupidities.

Something tells me they were more than a little relieved to have a plausible pretext for cancelling. Poor revenue projections?

What morons. They go on about faux climate change while Islamists murder hundreds on a daily basis worldwide.

These facists had to change the name to climate change because fewer and fewer people believe in “global warming.”

Okay, I admit it. I'm having brain cramps today. I must be, because this thing doesn't make sense to me?!?

  1. India is a major climate polluter, yet is exempt from the Kyoto Protocol and any and all reduction obligations.
  2. So... to *fight* (cough) 'climate change' the eco Nazis decide to have a HUGH concert in this major climate polluting country.
  3. And in order to get to climate polluting India - which is 7,000 miles from anywhre - this gaggle of 'mega stars' would all be flying there in their climate polluting, gas guzzling, PRIVATE JETS.
  4. Then, when all these mega stars along with their entourage of band mates, roadies, hangers on, etc. finally get there, they'll each set up their own 20,000 pounds of Kilowatt eating electrical music equipment.
  5. And then ... They'll be setting this Kilowatt eating equipment up on a stage with enough ENERGY EATING lighting and special effects -- THAT COULD POWER A SMALL CITY.
  6. Then after a few hours of music and insipid speeches on *climate change*, they tear it all down, pack it up, and these mega stars fly 12,000 miles back to wherever on their gas guzzling, climate polluting, PRIVATE JETS.
  7. Sooooooo, in the end, 'Live Earth India' would really do nothing except ADD more pollution to the air and skies, needlessly eat mega Kilowatts of electricity in climate polluting India -- a major culprit IN *global climate change* -- all so some eco Nazi wackos can have a feel good circle jerk about themselves saving the world.

So I must be having brain cramps as his thing seems completely counterproductive.

Or... I'm okay and these guys are completely nuts!

I don't know if global temperature increase will reduce terrorist activity but you can bet localized extreme temperature increases in and around mecca will reduce it.
