FP: John Ziegler, welcome to Frontpage Interview.
Ziegler: Thanks. It has been a weird and rather rough time.
FP: Why has it been weird and rough?
Ziegler: Well, when I released the Zogby poll of Obama voters I never anticipated the level of outright hatred and irrationality that would be unleashed on me. I spent most of that week deleting nasty e-mail from my inbox just so I could keep receiving e-mail.
FP: I’d like to talk to you about that poll today.
Let’s start with your forthcoming documentary on the media coverage of the election "Media Malpractice...How Obama Got Elected." You’ve also produced a video of Obama voters on election day being asked simple questions about the election. What’s it all about?
Ziegler: This is a film that I knew several months ago just HAD to get made and that I was the right person and maybe the only person who would and could do it correctly. It will tell the story of how the news media went to unprecedented lengths to help the Obama campaign from the start of the primary season right to the election. As part of that project I interviewed twelve Obama voters on election day and tried to understand how that distorted media coverage impacted what they knew, or thought that they knew about the campaign.
What I found was so incredibly astonishing that I decided to make a web video of the responses and commission a scientific nationwide Zogby poll of Obama voters to see if these results were representative of a broader reality and we found that they absolutely were.
We put the video and polling information at www.HowObamaGotElected.com and it has been a smash hit on the internet with the video getting well over one million views in less than a week."

A number of things converged to a perfect storm.
Having a spectacularly bad candidate chosen for us by dems and independants didn't help.
Having an idiot sitting president who just sat there letting libs vilify him for eight years and just sat there and took it sure as hell didn't help. The idea of turning the other cheek depends on a certain set of assumptions, mainly that the other person is capable of learning something from the example, and is problematical at best; in American politics, it is a formula for disaster.
Having an entire generation of American youth totally brainwashed didn't help. Nobody can hope to prevail in any sort of a culture war while sending their children off to the enemy for indoctrination. The NEA and the govt. school monopoly must be broken before conservatives can ever prosper again.
But the biggest factor was John (the "Maverick"(TM)) McCain having his Ross Perot moment with the bailout. The American voting public will not elect somebody they view as a flake to the whitehouse.
Look folks, this should raise the stakes. The other side got out the vote, but failed to educate the voter. If we want control of congress back we've got to get people educated about their own political party. I'd say if these folks learned something about their own representatives they might not remain democrats.
I for one would like to see a similar survey completed about Republican voters. We might learn why there is such a thing as a swing voter and what we need to do to keep them loyal republicans.
We can poke fun at this stuff, but the reality is it isn't really funny. They knew more about the smears of Palin than they did about their own party.
Who ran the smear campaign?
We need to stop being scared of being label by the left.
Simple. He got elected cause there are more taxtakers then taxpayers.
One woman of my acquaintance said she didn’t like Palin. (A big fat lie.) She voted for Obama because she has a son, who, at 6, is well nigh uncontrollable — attention deficit syndrome. She must lie awake night wondering how her family will pay for his medical care, and so saw Obama as the answer to her prayers. The irony is, of course, that there won’t be enough money to pay for her son when the Great One implements socialized medicine.

You do have a way with words.
There actually are several ways to look at it, and they aren’t mutually exclusive when you stop to ponder them:
1- better “branding.” Obama was marketed like a soft drink.
2- more money. I’ve seen sources claiming he raised nearly a billion dollars. While Cap’n Queeg hobbled himself. ( My moratorium on calling the little SOB that is suspended for the duration, or we turn into Venezuela- whichever comes first ... )
3- Ophra-ized voters. Yes, we have become American Idol and Survivor! as a nation. With the worst features of both shows. Yes, the TV and the schools are responsible— but we let it happen, didn’t we?
The Dems should be rebranded. “If you’re Stupid, vote Dem” etc.

Political correctness and willful ignorance DID allow that to happen.
You should also remind your friend of the Marxist tenet regarding ‘useless eaters’ which means that under a totalitarian system, those who do not contribute significantly to society are purged from society.

I disagree, they did educated the voter. They used the typical liberal tactics; biased reporting, intimidation of critics, using misleading or even blatantly false talking points over and over. Yep they educated the voter alright!

Around here, the school boards drive taxes, and everything else- it's "all for the children," and I've fought them for decades.

You’re blaming your televisions? Why can’t we just accept the fact that we don’t live in a very well informed or productive society. We didn’t need to elect a President, we needed a social worker, which is basically what we got. To be honest, I felt more helpless as a military officer deployed to the desert when Clinton was elected...but I voted with my feet and resigned. If you live in a blue state, you can decide to continue subsidizing the welfare state, or you can stand up for what you believe in and move. If you are a business owner-go global, downsize, better yet hire a veteran who agrees with you. If you can find solace in blaming television than you are MUCH better off than a lot of us.
THAT'A how the ‘Mr. “I Hate America” Candidate’ became President-elect.
DOn’t forget, the Obama campaign won Advertising Week’s “Ad Campaign of the Year” prize, the first time it was ever won by a political campaign.
I read an interview with David Axelrod, his campaign manager, who said that they did focus groups during the primaries and tested the results in a couple of counties. When they tried to present Obama on the basis of ideas, that is, a rational approach, he lost; when they presented him on the basis of slogans and images, that is, an emotional approach, he won. Hillary was out there thinking it was a contest between ideas, while he was being sold by a very different type of campaign.
The same applied during the general campaign. We may have snickered at the faux Presidential seal and the Greek columns and the dreamy photos of The One, but the Oprah crowd luved it.
I've been championing this idea since I joined Free Republic.
We absolutely **must** work to get our kids out of government schools, offer free conservative alternatives to all the children in America, and shut every Marxist government indoctrination camp down.
The Alinsky types had this figured out decades ago. Go for the children. If the hearts and minds of the children are won then Marxist dominated elections will follow.

Fear this. Last week, the teachers union announced it would attempt to organize the teachers in the local nationally rated but non union school system.

That is an interesting statement. We hear a lot about the “dumbing down of America” and that our schools have become indoctrination centers. While all of this may be true, I think it goes much deeper than that. The term “Couch
Potato” has been coined to describe a lazy person. Laziness is more than physical inactivity, it can also manifest itself as mental inactivity. This gets us to sloth, one of the deadly sin, being a contributing factor in Sen. Obama’s election.
Merriam-webster defines sloth as ... a: disinclination to action or labor : indolence b: spiritual apathy and inactivity. We will have to regain our moral footing if we are to remain “That Shining City on the Hill”. The statements from some of our “so called” spiritual leaders show that we have a long way to go.

Of course - but then, news deserves a bad name. "News" is only the latest rumor. There is nothing intrinsically noble about being "up to date" on "the news."
Something tells me he didn't have to exert himself to win votes from the ‘Oprah crowd’.
All the effort and expense was directed at the white voters that he had to draw away from McCain. It worked with them because he targeted the young, ill-educated, television-addicted losers and lazy loafers who think the ‘government’ owes them and who will always be there thinking they really can get something for nothing!!!
AKA: ‘Useful Idiots’- Good luck throwing entitlements down that s&^hole!!!

Obama won because of Four factors:
1. Bush and his RINO ways and a silly war trying to make Iraq
in to a democracy.
2. A knuckheaded “maverick” like John McCain to lead the party
3. The MSM flawing for the “new black” dream boy.
4. The Economy that failed at just the right time.
The media must be made to pay if Obama screws up—Don’t worry Obama will exact a revenge for us when he doesn’t govern as people expect. Look for no news briefings or access.
It’s late in the day on this one. If we don’t break the NEA stranglehold in the next ten years, nothing else we do will matter.

This goes far deeper than the NEA.
We must get our children out of the government schools.
We must offer tuition free conservative private school alternatives to all children in the U.S.
We must work to shut down all government schools.
If we don’t do this it is as you say. Nothing else will matter.
