Barack Obama has one election still to win before he moves into the White House, and by all accounts he’s a shoo-in. The Electoral College – that curious body created by the Founders to put one extra check on the popular vote – meets Dec. 15 to elect the president.
But across the US, a small band of Americans convinced that Mr. Obama is not a natural-born citizen, as the Constitution requires of presidents, are lobbying Democratic electors to take one last look at the notion that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii.
The idea that Democratic electors would deny Obama the presidency strains the bounds of credulity. But the lobbying campaign points to the endurance of conspiracy theories pertaining to US presidents – and revives longstanding questions about the Electoral College itself.

The MSM reporters are from the Bagdad Bob school of journalism. They will only attack the ones asking the questions ie. Joe the plumber.

I think its an accurate definition of what is going on. It’s a shame word/term to marginalize a group. Stand firm and fight back with the facts because its going to be a rough week.

O’s mother is/was american. His father whatever. By her naturalization, her offspring are natural born american no matter where born? American mother’s living working outside of this country married to a foreign born giving birth in a foreign land the child is not a natural born American?
I’d think a very good question would be to ask if Obama has ever been a citizen of another country, and if so, please authorize the release of all documentation pertaining to that citizenship, and provide it for review. That would include birth certificate(s), sealed adoption records, school records, passport information and college admissions.

The simplest explanation I’ve read is that a “natural born” citizen is one in which an act of law was not required. If Obama was born to a Kenyan (which at the time was a British colony), he would hold dual citizenship. When his mother married the Indonesian and they moved to Indonesia, he would have possibly became a dual citizen of the U.S. and Indonesia. In order to become a naturalized citizen, he would have had to renounce his citizenship of either Kenya/Britain or Indonesia. That would have required an act of law, so therefore not “natural born”.
McCain, OTOH, even though he was born in Panama required no act of law to be a citizen.
That’s just one take on the issue.
Post 14. Yes, that’s the rub. Was he ever a naturalized citizen of Indonesia? Or did he hold dual citizenship at any time in hie life?
In either case, I believe he would not be considered “natural born” because even though he was born in HI (which I believe to be the case), he would have had to renounce his citizenship of other countries to become eligible for President as if you hold dual citizenship or have ever had dual citizenship, it takes an act of law for you to be a sole citizen of the U.S.
It seems possible that he traded on his dual citizenship for school admissions and travel purposes - perhaps even on passport information.
None of those records have been made public.
It is not a full-time job. You only have one duty, to cast your ballot on the prescribed date. I expect the salary is zero and there might be a one-time small stipend.
There are no qualifications as required by the Constitution.
Rabid party partisans are selected to ensure that they vote for the candidate the state selected. States try to enforce their vote but the Constitution allows them to vote for anyone.
Even the c-span anchor said this morning he never heard about his birth certificate problem. So how is the country going to hear about it?
