Britain on top in casual sex league
Times Online ^ | December 1, 2008 | Roger Waite

BRITISH men and women are now the most promiscuous of any big western industrial nation, researchers have found.

In an international index measuring one-night stands, total numbers of partners and attitudes to casual sex, Britain comes out ahead of Australia, the US, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany.

The researchers behind the study say high scores such as Britain’s may be linked to the way society is increasingly willing to accept sexual promiscuity among women as well as men. They also believe that, among certain age groups and at certain times, men and women are equally liberal.

Depending on how you look at it, this is either another sad step down towards cultural decline, or an opportunity to make ribald jokes. Or both.

Only 17% of men in America had poached their girlfriends.

Poached? Side order of toast?

'Friends with benefits' does appear to be the norm for the 21st century.

Evidently, intimacy and commitment seems to be more trouble than it's worth, for some.

Mad lemming disease. It is better to drown in a cesspool than get beheaded by the imported religion of peace.

I was invited on a couple of occasions to go out with the ‘girls from work’ on a Friday night. I was appalled by what I saw. Married men and women were trying to ‘pull blokes’ and would leave with them. I finally realized after living there a few years that Friday nights were for couples to split and go out with friends (and anything goes). Saturday nights were reserved for couples. Needless to say, I didn’t ‘go out’ with the gals anymore if invited. I preferred to sit in a quiet pub with my hubby enjoying a pint.

This study misses out on Iceland, which is too small to cut the grade. The are generally friendly and have to live through long arctic nights. Their rates of Chlamydia are said to be the highest in the world.

Getting drunk and screwing people you don’t even know. Where are we on the Sexual Imbecility Index?

People of British stock tend to have affairs, abortions, and a sense of anomie. People of Asian stock tend more to have marriages, families, and a sense of destiny.

Welcome to Londonistan!

I never heard that phrase before a friend of mine used it to describe a “relationship” she was having with a guy who lives about 1000 miles away. It’s very sad that people take sexual intimacy so lightly. I’m no prude but geesh, it’s awful watching the decline of our culture day and day out.

Yep. I was interested in a British woman awhile back until she felt the need to start discussing her promiscuity with me. I talk to her, but no longer make any romantic overtures towards he. She now claims that I inexplicably broke it off becuase I’m an a**hole and recently told me that I’m just ‘afraid’ of British women. Damn straight I am.

Their illegitimacy rate is around 65 percent. And yes, the welfare benefits are huge.

When the consequences of bad behavior are removed (easy divorce, unlimited abortion, no social stigma), the incidence of good behavior declines. The purpose of a conscious moral code is not to prevent people from having fun, but to stabilize societies, in part by establishing a line of personal responsibility beyond which “fun” is outweighed by negative social consequence.

From my experience American women prefer to be coddled, not poached.

Promiscuity is pretty high in some Oriental cultures too and infidelity amongst business class Japanese men and Chinese too for that matter is the norm rather than exception. Not to mention Bangkok, Manilia, Goa and so on.

This, for some reason reminds me of an old vaudeville line ... candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker.

When I said “Asian” I was using the UK journalistic euphemism for Indian and especially Pakistani — and the other Muslim immigrants.

A lot of this I think can be attributable to religious practice or lack thereof in Great Britain. While the mosques are generally packed, the churches are mostly empty in the UK. The Church of England, long taken over by the liberal/left, has basically corrupted, ruined, and watered down religious practice and discipline much as mainline Protestantism has succumbed to liberal influences in the U.S.

The lack of strong religious influences, the break down of traditional family structures combined with the pernicious influences of contemporary culture and entertainment have worked to debase God’s gift of sexual intimacy between a married heterosexual couple to a fleeting whim to be enjoyed for the moment, consequences be demand.

The British Empire has therefore followed predictably in the footsteps of the Roman Empire. Guess who’s next?
