National security team nominees are prepared to meet today's challenges and tomorrow's emerging threats, U.S. Vice President-elect Joe Biden said Monday.
"I hope and believe that the American people will come to feel as I do that we brought together one of the most talented national security teams ever assembled," Biden said at a news conference in Chicago, during which President-elect Barack Obama introduced his national security team. "A team prepared to meet the serious challenges we face today and the emerging threats that will confront us tomorrow."
Obama designated Sen. Hillary Clinton as his secretary of state and said he asked Robert Gates to continue as defense secretary. Obama also named Eric Holder as attorney general, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano as homeland security secretary, Susan Rice as ambassador to the United Nations and retired U.S. Marine Gen. Jim Jones as his national security adviser.
Each nominee "has a clear understanding of the forces that are shaping this new century and the lives of our fellow Americans," Biden said. "Each member shares our conviction that strength and wisdom must go hand in hand. Each member believes, as we do, that America's security is not a partisan issue."
All that’s missing is for Obama to promise the most ethical administration in history.
AMEN to that!
I'm especially looking forward to the part where Napolitano throws the borders wide open.
Wait until Hillary and Bill try and make their own Foreign Policy. Will Obama then have to drop the hammer and fire her?
My prediction is that she won’t last beyond the first year.
And we all know Biden is not the type of guy to lie or exaggerate.

From the IHT:
Yet all three of his choices - Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as the rival turned secretary of state, General James Jones, the former NATO commander as national security adviser and Robert Gates, the current and future defense secretary - were selected in large part because they have embraced a sweeping shift of resources in the national security arena.
The shift, which would come partly out of the militarys huge budget, would create a greatly expanded corps of diplomats and aid workers that, in the vision of the incoming Obama administration, would be engaged in projects around the world aimed at preventing conflicts and rebuilding failed states.
Me: Well, that civilian national security force has to start somewhere.
Sadly, I'm convinced Hairplugs is dumb enough to actually believe what he said.
Biden’s just showing his ability to be a Hitler-sized liar.
The Titanic was built by the most talented and experienced ship builders who ever lived up to that time.
The same Biden that sings about The Villages where he is the town idiot?? I really value his opinion.
sure he plagarized that line from somewhere
When the Commander in Chief lacks any real tangible talent beyond being a “community organizer/politcal hack”, the teams talent is not relevant.
When has "already taken" slowed down Joe "Neil Kinnock wrote my speech for me and didn't even know it" Biden?
No Joe, I don’t believe it at all.
I don’t feel this country is any safer by specifically hiring three liberal women to some of the most crucial posts in our republic.
