Biden calls team 'most talented' ever

National security team nominees are prepared to meet today's challenges and tomorrow's emerging threats, U.S. Vice President-elect Joe Biden said Monday.

"I hope and believe that the American people will come to feel as I do that we brought together one of the most talented national security teams ever assembled," Biden said at a news conference in Chicago, during which President-elect Barack Obama introduced his national security team. "A team prepared to meet the serious challenges we face today and the emerging threats that will confront us tomorrow."

Obama designated Sen. Hillary Clinton as his secretary of state and said he asked Robert Gates to continue as defense secretary. Obama also named Eric Holder as attorney general, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano as homeland security secretary, Susan Rice as ambassador to the United Nations and retired U.S. Marine Gen. Jim Jones as his national security adviser.

Each nominee "has a clear understanding of the forces that are shaping this new century and the lives of our fellow Americans," Biden said. "Each member shares our conviction that strength and wisdom must go hand in hand. Each member believes, as we do, that America's security is not a partisan issue."

I think the most interesting call will be Hillary’s decision of when to resign her Senate Seat.
  1. If she resigns this year - an appointed replacement would have some minor seniority advantage over those first sworn in next January.
  2. Methinks that Hillary might want to keep all bets covered, in case the FBI background check and some Republicans in the Senate (those with spines) interrupt her one way ticket to Foggy Bottom.
  3. It is also possible that Obama could have the goods on her, wait for her to resign, wait for her confirmation hearing, release the goods through back channels, and then she could be out of the picture entirely. If that were the case, we would be assured that Obama was operating on a higher plane of Machiavellianism.

I wish Biden would have said something about how we and France will never, ever let Hezbollah beck into Lebanon. Because once we and the Frenchies kick someone out, they stay out! \sarc

Probably the show he wore the last time he was hanging out at Home Depot with “the guys.” And they probably went straight to Katie’s restaurant right after that.

Looks like Bubba's 3rd term.

I'm pretty sure Bubba didn't want Hillary to be Prez...But this is a retention of Bubba's power to a greater degree....Behind doors closed to the American People. The object is and will always be sheer power...obtained via money.

I also think that Bubba thinks that Obama is a "dud"....a know nothing, do nothing Idiot who will respond to anything meaningful as "Present".

The Clintons are running the show...Obama is for just for show....the black vote, the woman's vote and the "gimme" crowd...."BUBBA'S BASE!!!"

"Will Obama then have to drop the hammer and fire her?"

Well, let's put it this way; since THE ONE doesn't know Jack Sh** about foreign policy, I doubt if he will ever know if something went haywire.

And the Clintons are such good liars that whatever they tell him will as good as Gospel in his eyes.

Should we start a pool of where and when the first terrorist attack will be in the US after the coronation of Osama?

Now, let's see what we have. An Attorney General who says he will fight crime, but who rushed through the pardon of one of the greatest white collar criminals in history? A UN Ambassador who advised then-President Clinton, not once but twice, NOT to accept custody of Osama bin Laden from The Sudan?

This is the "best team ever?" Or, has Joe ("Hair Plugs") Biden stolen someone else's speech? Again?

"I don’t feel this country is any safer by specifically hiring three liberal women to some of the most crucial posts in our republic."

You gotta hand it to the libs; they really know how to screw up an administration big time. Hitlery as Secretary of State is ALMOST as dumb as Clinton's choice of Madeline Halfbright for SOS.

So lessee here; who's the most threatening nation to our own national interest? A: Iran, a Muslim country, where men are everything, and women don't have a place in public, let alone affairs of state.

So let's go on ahead and make sure to screw with their heads and appoint a woman as SOS, so they are sure to be offended even before she gets to any dealings with them.

Only Klintoon's appointment was more insulting, because Ms. Halfbright was Jewish, to boot! Making sure we insult the Mooslimbs right outta the gate!
