Is that 10 point lead from a Dem pollster? I’ve seen other polls showing the race to be a tossup. McCain / Palin did even better in the district than Bush did in 2000 and 2004. It sinks that we can’t win even in districts that Obama lost. At least we won the La-06 back.

Yeah, it was a Dem poll. However, the poll is from about two weeks ago, and from what I've gathered the situation is a lot different on the ground at this point. Also, I found this post at DU that urges its liberal readers to "not waste their money" on Carmouche. Fleming *should* have a natural advantage in this district, however it's gonna come down to turnout. The LA GOP better have their voters turned out. Carmouche is going to need a big AA turnout to win, and that will be a lot more difficult on a Saturday special election without Obama on the ticket.
