Disappointment in Georgia (Liberal crying ..haha)
The Nation ^ | 12/02/2008 | John Nichols

Posted on 12/03/2008 5:36:32 AM PST by AmericanMade1776

On the eve the last Senate election of 2008, a still-campaigning Sarah Palin declared: "You Georgians are going to have the opportunity to determine the direction this country is going to take."

The Georgians blinked.

Instead of stepping into the 21st century with most of the rest of the country – including the southern states of Virginia and North Carolina, both of which backed Barack Obama for president and replaced Republican senators with Democrats – Georgia opted for the past.

I'd like for John Nichols to explain how a complete retread of the Clinton administration is "stepping into the 21st century".

The Irony of it is, not even Democrats would turn out to vote for John Martin in the run off election in Georgia.

It’s disturbing to call anyone who disagrees with you “backward looking”. When people talk of Stalin and Hitler, they say, “How could it have happened?” or “It could never happen here!”...Well, to watch it happen in slow motion, one need only look at articles like this and the irresponsible demagoguery that has become “reporting” these days.

OK....

I bit the bullet and voted for Shameful Chamblis, but only because the demonrat that he ran against was marginally worse - and it would have helped the national demonrats.

Won’t be a bit surprised if he votes with the fricken rats anyway.

My Dear Ignorant Mr. Nichols,

Please observe the people of Georgia are hard working, God fearing, gun loving, bible reading conservative people. We can’t help it if the Obama voters comprised of ONLY Atlanta, Macon and a few other misguided cities came out in droves to vote for your messiah and everyone else who had a D after their name. They were nowhere to be found during this runoff. Why? They don’t care, they just wanted to vote for the black guy.

Do me a favor and keep your liberalism to yourself and your close circle of friends.

Sincerely

Considering that the lack of a black turnout to vote surely had a negative impact on the result, I find it hard to believe that OHB did not campaign down there.

It’s possible that this blunder cost him a filabuster-proof Senate.

These leftwingers don’t understand that Obama is celebrating with the Republicans. A veto-proof Senate means that Harry Reid becomes President instead of Obama. If Harry Reid wants something and Obama doesn’t, Obama would need the Republicans to confirm his veto.

Modern Leftists, beginning with the Jacobins of the French Revolution, have for more than two centuries claimed "The Future" for themselves. Human progress in their eyes always flows but in one direction: toward collectivization.

Well, here we are after a few hundred million deaths in the pursuit of liberal Utopia, and yet they still try to tell us that only in their way lies "progress".

No thank you; I prefer to cling to my guns and religion and the notion that the 21st Century belongs to life and liberty, not death and collectivism.

BO did not blunder. He was smart, recognizing that he could not likely get the souffle to rise twice. The dirty secret is that except for the most rabid leftists, the RATS don’t want a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate... certainly BO doesn’t... the BO people want to bury the worst of the liberal agenda b/c he wants to be re-elected in 2012.

This is the first good news our party has had since 2004 and I can tell you this Senate seat would have gone democrat if McCain somehow pulled off the election. The upcoming near term election opportunities will be much tougher, in liberal states, replacing Obama appointees.

Someone tell the mealy-mouth liberal columnist that we did not BLINK. We said, “SCREW YOU.”

North Carolina and Virginia didn’t become progressive all the sudden either. The small pockets of puke liberals just voted more than the conservatives because the conservatives weren’t that happy with their candidate.

You want to hear weeping, wailing, and Nashing of teeth? Put Sarah Palin / Condi Rice on a ticket and watch the liberals explode~ when the conservatives come out of the wood work.

2010: Not just a dream, a necessity.

No, I don’t want the dims to have a filabuster-proof Senate. I’m merely throwing out the idea that perhaps Obama didn’t want it because that might make it much harder to blame someone other than dims for their problems which I believe will be legion of the next several years. Obama and dims will have to make real decisions with real consequences when they have control over both branches of government. The economy will be a huge problem for years to come (imo) and terrorism ain’t dead.

Let’s not miss the real message here. That the only reason Dems won big in all races is because of Obama. The blacks who voted in such large numbers returned to their apathy.

And guess what? This means that they will stay home in 2010. Because Obama is positioning himself as a centrist and will be a huge disappointment to the media and the left. That idiot lady who said Obama would pay her gas and mortgage will find herself still stuck with the bills. The blacks will not see Obama on the ballot and will stay home, meaning their usual turnout.

This means the Congress will in all likelihood turn back to the GOP.

Without the star power of their “Messiah,” the Dems are toast. All those analyses about shifts in the country’s political direction are all B.S.

2008 was the Dem’s year. 2010 will be the GOP’s year.

Chambliss, who won his first Senate term by attacking the patriotism of Vietnam veteran Max Cleland, who had lost three limbs while in the service of his country...

The Left will never forgive Chambliss for this. They thought they had the perfect vehicle in Max Cleland, who would at last give them credibility of military matters, and Saxby Chambliss blew him out of the water.
