On the one hand, the size of Murtha’s margin of victory shows (to me, anyway) that he was going to win anyway, albeit perhaps not by as MUCH as he did win by WITH this money.
On the other hand, it’s still relevant that he got this last-minute money. For all the donors knew, the race was going to be much closer. And of all the Democrats in all the close races in the country whom those donors COULD have supported, they chose Murtha.
