Where is the Sgt Schultz photo?
To: Flavius
I find that hard to believe; those guys are living in a virtual paradise and they spend most of their time getting drunk when they should be out there enjoying the friendly people and the wonderful climate.

My beautiful wife is first generation German in this country. She's 5:10 and a slim, fit 135 lbs. She visits her first cousins in Germany, who could all look like twin sisters, except for the fact that they're all 200 lbs. Lots of Wurst, spaezel, and brew.

I do some of my best work while drinking. Give the Germans a break. lol
If I were in Afghanistan shooting at terrorists, I’d wanna drink too!

My daughter is in Germany for a semester. The food is all meat, potatoes and bread. She’s dying for some grilled veggies and a Power smoothie from Robeks.

“Grilled vegetables” in Germany are potato pancakes. I love those Robek’s smoothies. I don't think we have them here in DC, but I've enjoyed them in Boston, I believe on Boylston St.

Doing the math, that’s 1.4 pints per person per day. That’s a lot, but it’s not uncommon for the Germans to have one over lunch and one at dinner. (I don’t know about their military, but the construction workers on our base could usually be seen at lunchtime drinking a beer or two with their bagged lunches and then getting right back to work when the hour was up.)
The wine works out to about one bottle per person every 11.6 days. I think the problem has more to do with the schnitzel.

Who cares about being fat? If I were German, I’d focus on shooting people from farther away. Let the other guys run around.

This is not news to anyone who has been on a Mediterranean beach since V-E Day.
