1.7 million pints of beer and 92,000 bottles of wine for 3600 soldiers?

I do believe someone’s making money on the black market with this....

Yeah, right. Just the same, I can imagine plenty of soldiers and marines would love to have a sachel bearing robot in their unit...assuming they wouldn’t have to carry a lot of spare batteries for the robot.

This story can’t possibly be true b/c according to a majority of the Germans I was surrounded by while living in their *bleeping* country, AMERICANS are lazy slobs. NOT Germans. /sarc off

It’s funny though b/c they take weeks and weeks of vacation each year, don’t work on weekends unless you twist their arm, and don’t work past 5 p.m. God help you if you need anything after 10 p.m. You’re SOL.

A sad decline for a country that once fielded the greatest army in the world. The few Wehrmacht veterans left must be mortified as they watch what their country has become.

I’m under the impression that the reason OUR troops don’t drink is because we are AFRAID we’ll offend some Muslums.

So, why do we impose this upon ourselves? They can drink in almost every other country on the planet.

Totally normal in the German military. This gets officialy flown in. When I was in the German navy we often had 2 beers a day on the taxpayer. Even if it was 4 o’clock in the morning, an Ankerbier (anchor-beer - traditional beer when the anchor gets dropped) or Lumumba (a mixture of rum and chocolate) was nothing special.
